Most of the Shop skins are trash

Zealot once again losing. I just want the ogryn start screen armor on the commissary. It’s literally right there behind him in the shop on the Mourningstar.

I know the game wants to represent a dark atmosphere due to it’s location and dreary prison look.

But it just needs more…colour. Not saying people can run around in clown suits, santa etc or actually that might add alot of humour. Feels like cosmetics will just be another metal, grey, brown combo. Rather than looking more badass, add more fun, humour or something from lore.

Go all the way into something crazy like Blood Angels Terminator armour. Obviously without affecting stats. Makes no sense as prisoner on suicide missions, but got the wow factor and just for look.

Was really hoping for some more iconic Warhammer 40k looks, like the steel legion one. Would like to see more imperial guard regiments for vet and ogryn. A Klovis the Redeemer skin for the zealot would be nice as well. More long coats and robes for psyker.

If I wanted to look like a hive ganger, I would go play Necromunda.

Kruber? Where? All I see is a bloody battering ram.

Gunlugger only.
Don’t worry. They’ll release a recolor so you can barely differentiate one class from another.

Thats high effort. Unlike super derivative pallet swaps and re-mixes. Derivative means more cosmetics on paper for whales with less effort so more money for less work. Sure it makes things totally lame and bland which drives away players and ruins the aesthetics but easy money!

Appreciate the more aggressive no bs side of you lol. Either way you’re completely right, the cosmetics are underwhelming and not even being able to choose your armor color is incredibly stupid and only intended to gouge more money out of people.

I think they’ve done pretty well on that front; it’s just that a large chunk of it isn’t available for player use yet for some reason…

Here’s a very minimal sampling:

What’s wrong with Cadian shock-camo?

Skull-styled gasmasks seem to be the preserve of certain Steel Legion officers/NCOs (like Sergeant Morrow, the subject of that concept art).

Seems you are right, i thought it used by some their companies (like in case with krieg grenadiers). But still it looks odd without hose. And even without hose they could have done it in three variants

We’re in a completely Urban environment not a forest. Also it’s not what the iconic Bullgryns look like.

You haven’t seen the things growing in the underhive…

Funnily enough, the Bullgryn armor already has at least 2 colour variants in the files.
A simple Cadian green and a City fighter blue camo.

But seeing how they are not above putting simple recolours of existing gear in the premium shop (see the ogryn knives, zealot/psyker skull helmets or hoods etc), I think it’s safe to say we’ll probably have to pay for a bundle or two to get them.

I like them. Off course, you have to like WH40K…

True… unless you use perspective mod (and that’s why I hate power supply interruption condition)

Tbh, this is the point that annoys me.
They release new models in aquila shop… but in commodore shop, we get recolor of existing ones. I would have loved that we can buy a “model” and that we can configure colors of it like we can see in lot of games.
It is not hard to do if you define 2 main colors on clothes… I have seen several games doing that… can’t believe we get a system that force you to pay lot of ordos to get a recolor of something.

I can. They couldn’t do anything about getting helmets to match armour colours (and armour recolours were literally the only unlockable cosmetic) for the entirety of VT2 to date.

My problem with bullgryn’s camo is that ogryns (and even psykers) got kasr’kin armor before dedicated guardsman class that has cadian as one of their personalities.

They should let you buy individual gear pieces straight up. Not this 700 Aquilas for headgear, but can only buy Aquilas minimum 1000, leaving that psychology to potentially buy more to use it all up.

giant zipper baby, can’t unsee

A fair point. That rankled for me as well.

This puts me in mind of Warframe, where you can recolour your armour/weapons/ships/pets/rocketpacks/hoverboards to your heart’s content (most of the colour-palettes are paywalled, though) and the developer runs monthly polls to determine which fan-submitted skins will be added to the in-game cosmetics shop (with the creators of the winning skins getting a cut from subsequent sales of theit designs).

Also for example, skins for ogryn kickabck guns and skins from Killing Floor 2. I don’t know how FS are not ashamed to sell such things. Like noone from devs said “yeah maybe we should recolor the barrel”?
