I don’t necessarily need it to be story driven - the idea we are on a giant hive city with millions upon millions of heretics and instead of them taking us ANYWHERE on this planet to fight the enemies - we are fighting “visions” of enemies. Why?
To each their own. Unless you can explain to me why we are going into visions to fight enemies rather than fighting the enemies on this giant hive planet we are currently on, this is just an extremely dumb idea IMO.
Not me…
I don’t know for others, but I want freedom. I want to be able to choose what modifiers will apply, what map I will play and be able to launch it when I want it and if I want it… and the game will calculate the rewards in consequence.
This, is what I want.
But not a new mode that will divide the players even more…
If they wanted to make new game mode, it has to apply or to regular, or to auric or to havoc… one new layer is HORRIBLE.
That would definitely be nice and yeah dividing an already small player base isn’t a great idea.
I don’t really know a good solution for solving the mission/modifier selection though - if they let everyone select their own modifier and map - wouldn’t that create a huge bottleneck for certain maps and modifiers? For instance - my favorite Maelstrom modifiers are the most difficult ones - gas/specials/snipers etc. I know for a fact a lot of people hate the gas Maelstroms and as a result, if I chose that modifier on say, hab dreyko.. how many others would also que for the same map and how long would I be waiting for 3 others to join since EVERYONE can now select their own map and modifier?
Simple solution is party finder… not worse than the current havoc “queue”.
And when I see the options it has… I wonder what happened, why can’t we launch custom missions? cause it seems it was the destination of party finder.
Yeah then they could put the most popular modifiers toward the top with a little highlight or something. I could see that working but party finder wasn’t exactly a huge success with Havoc lol. Probably because Havoc was very limiting though. Hopefully we can expand on the party finder more because that would be a proper solution for map/modifier selection
Is this a bit? It’s not even out.
Reading comprehension is definitely a bit on this forum
The level of frustration Fatshark delivers to their playerbase is beyond nuts.
Every single post reeks with disbelief over their convoluted logic of content release or mechanics.
I’m not even mad, it’s amazing!
Same here. I don’t get all these complaints at all. I read their stated reasons for hating the idea and they just don’t work for me. I find the idea interesting and intriguing.
All sort of agents and special forces train all the time in safer settings to develop better teamwork. In a psychic halluscation everything would presumably feel completely real, making the training all the more effective for developing the rights sorts of skills under circumstances that have near-perfect translation to the real thing.
And I welcome any attempt to further develop the background of the characters on the Mourningstar. The lore and mystique behind the Sefoni character is itself worth exploring.
You are excited to kill vanilla mobs, in a virtual arena, with light buffs only applicable to certain classes, to obtain mats for your maxed out weapons, and xp for your lvl30 characters?
Fascinating.
You’re mad because the game mode is non-cannon. Like actually mad, not hyperbolic or anything.
That is absurd.
I agree… but I don’t see why this HAS to be multiplayer…
And tbh, I doubt about a good replayability, especially cause it is limited to multi.
since very little is known about this game mode yet, i think it’s too early to judge it at this point. personally, I’m not interested in lore or ideas at all, for me, it’s all about whether the game is simply fun to play
There are a lot of mice things in life that can be achieved without much effort.
Can’t we have both?
All the normal missions are in the hive city, including havoc, so what’s the harm in an endless mode delivered this way?
I’m not really seeing the problem?
Frankly the story behind it is not something I see as a problem…
I have no strong opinion on the visions idea.
I am disappointed that there’s another hive city “out there”, but the developers haven’t been able to exploit that for a new game mode. That said, there’s few enough of us left now that all new modes objectively make the others worse.
Spoken like someone who’s not spent enough time in the Meat Grinder. Or on Ascension Riser. Sefoni’s a pretty damn important character. May as well call Morrow a random too. Just a random guy who tells us what to do sometimes.
I don’t think the premise being subjectively less than ideal significantly colors the quality of effort devs are putting into it. That remains to be seen.
And fighting inside of a psyker’s mindscape is a damn cool premise. Granted, I wish it was an enemy psyker instead of just being training, which I think is more of an affront than it “being a vision” since visions actually matter in 40k. Saying “it was all a dream” matters more in a universe where dreams can predict the future, make people explode and also summon demons sometimes.
I’d rather the premise be that we are helping Sefoni defend against psychic assaults, which would explain how ‘exhausted’ they’d be after a trial, enough to unknowingly let slip classified info.
I’m going to sort “Mortis Trials taking place in a psyker’s mind” being an issue right next to “Fatshark calling us Rejects in official media”. Waaaay down there at the bottom of the list, past Warren-16 and Dark Communion having reversed mission-types and classes not having a “Shirtless” option, in the section marked “trivial stuff some people care way too much about”.
(For the record, I am the one who cares too much about mission type classification. And maybe “some people” is underselling how many folks thirst for shirtless ogryns)
Those are the return of Fan favourite maps from the first game!
How does that relate to whats described as “the Mortis arena”? How is that even remotely a good comparisson???
I completely agree. With the entire planet, nay the entire system, to choose from, they went with “dreams”. Just ridiculous. As if the entire appeal of the game isn’t the wonderful sci-fi setting that has been developed over decades.
Nah lets go with some weird psyker-projected dream arena.
