When the topic of false advertisement comes up in these forums there’s usually a common understanding (too many “broken promises” compilations here and in reddit). I just want to point out the most recent one.
So this is promotional artwork for the community event (it’s used in it, certainly):
I couldn’t help but notice a stark… ummm… lack of skulls on the in-game model. This, for the Community Event launched in connection to the Skulls event.
The SKULLS, pals… You didn’t add the skulls from the artwork. This is just the default Beta helmet.
This kind of advertisement/delivery has become synonymous with FatShark, unfortunately.
At this point I’m not engaged in any way, just memeing for posterity.
Im still mad that we cant get the cosmetic items from the trailers. It’s just soooooooooooo unbelievable that they advertised the game so much with that same reject squad over and over again but do not allow us any way whatsoever to get those items. Even worse, it shows those cosmetics on the class selection screen when you start a character, wtf!!! Imagine if you couldnt the iron helmet in skyrim after all the trailers they showed with him wearing it, or you couldnt get the NCR Veteran armor in New Vegas
Yeah, imagine that. That’d be like not being able to get the gasmask helmet for the Vet, after it’s been on every promo image before launch, amirite?
In all seriousness, everyone who still critiques backlash (you know, the anti-whiners and white knights) - do pay attention. It’s happening now, not just during launch. Consumers make decisions based on what advertisement they are shown. I know I did.
These financial decisions have been largely based on false advertisement and false promises by FS.
That’d be even more of a meme. Granted, the new Commodore cosmetics were supposed to come out today, but are delayed due to a certification issue. I’ll say nothing further and let the humor set in.
Eh you guys should just GTFO, its been 6 months, and all you do is Insult the developers, complain, cry, whine.
No one wants you guys here anymore, not the playerbase, not even Fatshark, you guys need to really move on, its getting pathetic seeing you guys cry here every day.
If you all so smart, so accomplished, there’s prolly thousands of things you could be doing that are a better use of your time, than coming around here.
So please do everyone a favor, and go play something else.
You know, you might be onto something here, with the way you’ve shown your feelings toward this post, the op and what it represents. Your thinking might be valuable to some to read, and even to the creator.
Now me, being so smart, I’ll try to make a point by giving you the FS treatment.
The amount of effort in this winge of a post about some promo art is so ridiculous. You kids are pathetic and you are losing your useless war against these devs. Go away. Embarrassing. Extremely embarassing that you kids can’t even handle the hard facts. You gotta try and hide the truth.
Just curious, why do a lot of people that claim to defend the game have to do it by attacking people who are criticising the game?
Can they not find enough good points from the game itself and the developer’s words or actions to build an argument on why they think certain criticism is unwarranted or overblown, but instead just go straight to attacking the person/people making the criticism?
I don’t see how directly attacking someone will sway or convince anyone of anything.
You could also stop complaining about complainers. Do the complainers even want you here?
Like, what’s your endgame? Do you think that your tactics are good for actually having a material result in that people would actually leave after what you say? If anything from what history has told us it would just inflame and unite people give them more of a reason to be active and discuss.
If you truly wanted people to stop it would be to just ignore them. That’s what fatshark has been doing and it’s been working. People have already left.
PS- generally making unsubstantiated insults and ad hominems just makes you come across as someone with low intellect and a lack of control of their emotions.
I feel like conversation started getting really heated only after the introduction of the '22 player boom (if you can even call it that) on the forums.
To the anti-complainers
Way I see it. If you like the game as is? Totally fine. You want to show appreciation? Totally fine. You use broad strokes to paint the people who criticize the game as whiney spoiled entitled? Now that’s why you’re getting shet flung back at you and specifically YOU not the FatSharks, YOU.
Because like I said before, you can appreciate the game for what it is. You can praise Fatshark for their work. Ive yet to see someone attacked for saying something along the lines of “Great patch good job Fatshark!” In an announcement thread. If someone does that? I condemn it. Thing is the afformentioned only applies when you don’t throw shade/backhanded comments to the majority criticisms. Which you do. Every. Single. Time.
We can discuss why the changes that the majority wants would not negatively affect the minority without needing to resort to pearl clutching.
As someone who didn’t exactly fall on their head several times a day, I’d summize (as I’m sure has everyone else) that they do, in fact, have no point to make. please someone prove me wrong, I am begging to hear some actually decent points against the feedback given for the last half a year.
I’d understand the notion of “stop whining already, we get it” if it was overblown, irrelevant or just ridiculous. At that point it would be about venting someones frustration on the redundant feedback.
Given as none of the above applies and that they seemingly only have the recourse of attacking whomever is giving their feedback/pointing out flaws, they all fall into the same bag for me. I neatly label it “”
Oh and one more thing: to anyone that might fall into said -bag: we “whiners” are just as tired of “whining” as you are of reading it. It’s on neither of us to stop giving feedback/ telling the others to stop giving feedback, it’s on FS to stop padding themfelves on the back and actually do what has been requested for OVER HALF A GODDAMN YEAR.
Even though i too am in the “fix the game fatshark” camp, i do understand people that don’t want to read the constant criticism anymore, because it gets really tiring coming to reddit, here, or steam forums only to read about how people hate this or that aspect of the game.
Gets old fast, but i do understand why people do it and why it needs to be done.
But the thing is - attacking people who “complain” with vitriol does nothing. I only wish the complaining about the game would do anything.
It took two screenshots and some ten medium-length sentences. It’s not hard to point out this inadequacy.
When you mention cost you made me think, though - the past month of “it is what it is” cost me three good pals from the Discord server and at least two other IRL friends I played with prior, because of locks, lack of content and lack of communication.
