Microstutter on every explosion

Issue Description:
Every single time a grenade explodes, a yellow barrrel (not red!) explodes, or ogryn shoots one of their explosive weapons i get a slight microstutter. If i have my steam FPS counter on, it doesnt even move, but there is a perceptible stutter for the briefest of moments. It is very irritating since there are a lot of barrels and grenades going off every game. It does not matter if the explosion hits 99 mobs or 0 mobs, the stutter still occurs. I have used multiple different GPU drivers and that has not changed anything.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Find a yellow barrel/use a sharpshooter grenade;
  2. Wait for it to explode (to make it easier, move your mouse before the explosion);
  3. Notice a stutter.

Platform:
Steam

Reproduction Rate:
Constant (100%)

Hmm, is there any difference if you try switching DirectX versions?

Or, perhaps running through our general performance solutions may help:

I’m not an expert, but locking fps often helps.

Where does one do so? the usual -dx11 command line?

Apologies! Darktide is DX12 only - my brain defaulted to a Vermintide support suggestion :sweat_smile: M’bad.

Please try running through the performance solutions linked above.

It may also be helpful to check and disable any background applications that are running via Task Manager to see if anything is interfering, or to try a Selective Startup:

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
  4. Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
  5. Reboot your PC

If the issue no longer occurs after having performed the Selective Startup, try re-introducing your programs one-by-one to determine which is the culprit.

I tried setting the game to use the lowest possible graphics settings, turned every option (e.g. bloom, corpse interaction) to off, and it still occurs. My only startup items are Steam and Realtek audio drivers.
