Major Nerf to Arbitrador

Has there been officially another nerf to the arbitrator besides the reduced toughness? I just tried the arbitrator first time after the changes and something is off about the evasion timers. I also see it on my girlfriend who dies a lot more now. He is still very strong, but the nerf to the evasion timers seems rather big. He was literally invincible before in about every possible situation and without any effort.

Also, the overall combat quality seems to have decreased noticeably for all classes in the past weeks. It almost feels like the game is now faking a lot. Plus there is something off, that seems like maybe the consequence of an exagerated attempt to reduce bandwidth and or server load. It feels pretty much like a decline in what used to be the games core strength.

Also, they spawn mobs now a lot more out of nowhere behind you it seems. Easy to avoid but it is another decline in the games quality. Any more of those changes and the combat becomes a meaningless bashing without any depth, which is certainly a huge problem for long time motivation and makes it unlikely to buy the next title in the franchise. Would be a real shame, as Darktide combat was far beyond any other game.

which should have never have been this was in the first place so people don’t get used to such “experience”

thus far i’d say from comparison matches he still performs undeservedly easier by quite a margin and needs further adjusting downwards.

Even if a new class is introduced next time, releasing it out of nowhere as a “superman” like this is really a bad idea.
It doesn’t just break the balance of the game, but it will inevitably get nerfed sooner or later, so no players actually benefit from it.

The problem is, the arbitrator cant really be balanced by numbers. Very little thought has been put into him. His mechanics are too strong. Fun in a way, but he makes other classes less fun. As fun as he is, he decreases Darktides fun rating overall.

To be honest, he seems like a cheap cash grab.

huh? trimming castigator by 30% alone would have a huge effect on cheap gameplay getting punished the way it does with all other classes for holding your face under a crushers mallet and smiling.

numbers are a key factor in his op-ness so bring his toughness regen and stagger/dmg bonus upon staggered enemies in line and everyone (except the crutchlings) are having “fun” again.

He is OP with the other 2 abilities too though, if you build him right. His main problem is the mechanics, not his skills. Plus the dog on top, although the grenades make for the stronger build. In fact he is op before he even starts using his F.

it’s an example that can be applied to any of his talents, I didnt write nerf only one I picked castigator cause it’s the most prominent one.

hence nerf the nodes accordingly, see my point about toughness regen/stagger

won’t happen as long as they earn money with him but it’s what’d be the healthy gameplay choice.

this or kicking arbis by default, denying em their crutches in the first place.

and i’m saying this having bought arbi at release

It’s the mechanics, not the numbers. The dog, the endless grenades, the pistol which eliminates any ranged threat etc pp. You can only nerf him to death or let him ruin the game.

how is it NOT the numbers if you cut dog, nade and pistol damage in half by nerfing his nodes and item attributes???

arbi with a wet noodle isn’t going to do any op damage now is he?

Of course you can nerf the shield pistol, so no one uses it, to just name one example. But the problem is the underlying mechanic, not the numbers. Lets just stop this discussion, as i have no interest in explaining basic things to random ppl.

yes this is pointless, I agree.

since you won’t see numbers behind the mechanics I can’t think of a way to explain it differently :man_shrugging:

I see the numbers but they do not come into play until the next lower tier of impact. The pistol example explained it well and you still dont understand. Yes, you can nerf everything by numbers, but that is not the point. So it is a totally pointless discussion and a waste of time.

I understand not taking someone seriously anymore from the moment the “explanation” consists of stomping your feet and arguing “no, you…”

fact remains arbi is an op class for skill-less gameplay and needs to be nuked from Orbit.

Those are mutually exclusive talents

You wish harm upon people for whom Arbites is the main class. Even now, I don’t feel like I have an excess of power

I feel like FS have deliberately buffed the other classes so that they’re all more or less in-line now (which they are imo) so hopefully they can now blanket-balance the enemies a bit for a fairly quick solution to the powercreep

@temp The arbitrator in its original form was god mode and even now he is totally OP. Due to his mechanics, you cant realy balance him either. Which some people here do not understand. You either nerf him to death or you ruin the other characters by making them more like him, or you leave him OP, which makes other classes less fun. The arbitrator mechanics are fun at first, but it becomes obvious rather quickly, that he is massively flawed, from a Vermintide/Darktide perspective.

there, fixed it

now I won’t argue personal perception cause it’s literally unique to its owner BUT I got plenty of gameplay recordings showcasing people with less than malice skills doing more kills/damage in auric maelstrom, so something IS off in my opinion.

the most basic rule of thumb should be “bad gameplay nets bad results” hence it invalidates the performance of those putting in real skill and work.

I mean I can “beat” Jesse Owens on a speedbike, doesn’t mean I deserve #1gold medal but a nice spot in the loony bin

I got him from day one and got all his penances btw.
