For those who don’t know: Once you reach Havoc Assignment Rank 40, failing missions will not cause you to lose your rank. And now all you have to do is enter Havoc 40 mission once a week, even if you get wiped out by random hordes just a minute later, you can still keep your Assignment Rank for next week.
This has given rise to countless issues, many Havoc 40 players don’t take a match “seriously,” as failure comes at no cost to them.
What’s more, players have less incentive to play Havoc, since there is no risk of losing their rank, there is no way to keep them engaged in taking on challenges.
The lack of a drive to victory is definitely a major design flaw.
If Fatshark has even the slightest care for this mode, the minimum requirement should be changed to: You must successfully complete Havoc 40 once a week to retain your Assignment Rank.
By the way, my ideal scenario would be that even if you reached Havoc Assignment Rank 40, you’d lose your rank if you failed a mission 3 times.
I know that might be too harsh for a lot of people, so I can only dream.
Rather ironic profile picture you’ve got there if your message is to make people tryhard and not be allowed to goof around by your arbitrary standards, isn’t it?
Regardless, hard disagree. One of (if not the biggest) pain points of the system is this very cool and good “Player Retention” mechanic of forcing you to climb (and then retain) every season. Why do you want it to be worse lmao
Post-Flag edit: Points still stand as written, what do you expect me to do exactly?
You’re trolling, right? Even to this day many people can’t hit 40 assignment, and I play with people who have assignment at 35 or lower all the time. Sometimes I’m the only person in the lobby who can host a rank 40 map, despite everyone being 40 clearance.
Is it possible that, without any risk, players who have reached 40 might not take the mission seriously, making it harder for others to rank up?
I’ve seen this happen many times.
Harsher derank leads to people prioritizing only meta builds in random lobbies so they have the highest chances to win, which makes every other game identical in a gamemode with already limited map pool and modifier pool.
ah yes, the usual “i can only win if everyone is sweating it”
bummer theres no “i” left then and whatever win was done aint no achievement at all
seriously f’ that crap, if people are that desperate for a win in the “hardest” mode as to totally invaluate it, its no wonder havoc40 as a title means nothing anymore
havoc should be done at 40 only without any party finder or people having a say about the teams composition whatsoever, you need 100 attempts to beat it, all the better, no one deserves a guaranteed match by overpowered cheapshit.
otherwise premades are that way
Havoc 40 has now become a monopolized. As you said, players who reach this rank can freely use any builds they want, messing around with the game, just for fun, which lowers the others success rate and makes it even harder for rest of player base to reach Assignment Rank 40.
You call it freedom, I call it toxicity.
No one should have that privilege, it’s just a video game.
Is this some disguised way of saying people shouldnt be allowed to experiment even if they get h40 assignment locked in? What kind of meta gatekeeping BS is this?
Your logic also makes no sense. If someone is climbing and don’t want to derank after playing with people who are messing around, they are free to host their own games and/or not join these “troll” h40 lobbies. It’s their choice.
honestly as opposed to what?
you dont really believe i give a flying f what a faceless, noname random from around the globe “wants” from me in terms of a build…
and people wonder why its so disgusting dealing with them in and outside a hobby
get a grip, you’re pixels on a screen in a game that sadly elevates certain talents to compensate for physical skills.
might come as a shock to you truly skilled players make any build work and those needing certain builds aint truly skilled, thus to be disregarded no matter the level or title.
Do you know why I’m posting this? I’m helping a new joined friend reach level 40. Since not everyone in my own team has the time or interest to play Havoc (precisely because there’s no risk of losing ranks for us) I had to open party finder to let a random player to join.
Then a Zealot came, who was using a combat knife and stealth build. Within five minutes of the start, they died a hundred meters away from us and quickly quit the game.
Later, I found out that this Zealot had started their own Havoc 40 recruitment.
Do you know of any way to stop people like this? Make them risk losing their rank. Believe me, the game is full of players like that right now.
Why take things out of context? The point is messing around with the game, not caring at all about winning or losing, and causing other players to lose their rank.
You won’t believe it, but nobody gives a damn that you don’t give a damn about others, or about your gaming philosophy in general. You’re shitting up every thread with your useless comments. You don’t play Havoc? Then what the hell are you doing in this thread? Enjoy your imaginary coolness in the safe Maelstrom sandbox
dude shut it right there, contrary to you wannabe “help im stuck at havoc 26 or whatever” and need help "evaluting my “performance”, i did havoc 40 every damn time so far i was at my rig.
you wanna yap, put some money where that mouth is, then we talk again from your “safe zone”
no, i dont play havoc with pansies that need a parachute as to not fall into their own
Don’t forget that you yourself are just a pixel in the game, and far from the strongest pixel, but definitely the most whiny and boastful one. There isn’t a single other user on the forum who is even 10% as much of a braggart as you. You play a computer game that isn’t even PvP, on a difficulty level that’s knowingly not the highest, and you beat your chest like you’ve been through three real wars
