Don’t forget to mention your skill or hint at it — I admit, it’s way above average and way above mine — in EVERY message you post. And I’ll add: I guarantee you, in my lobby of just a pathetic rank 26–27, you will definitely eat dirt, and not because you’re bad, but because you’ll almost certainly turn out to be the only good enough player, but not good enough to solo withstand Twins+Captain on a map with Pox Gas and Blight Spread. This is me not-so-subtly hinting that if you cleared H40, it was far from just thanks to your skill
Then accept people who are not rank 40 yet. They have a reason to try their best.
on a more simmered down tone, it aint my skill alone, but at least i dont wait for a “perfect” constellation but play any there is.
then getting 40 means something else than just nibble on the yellow or hide beneath the blue.
just sayin ![]()
fact remains i dont like dealing with or applying to people outside of hitting “play”, simple as.
if I wanted id look for a premade, randos as varied as they come at least keep the game fresh.
and i aint the one complaining at the prospect of losing 9/10 hav 40 runs.
in fact that should be the norm.
that’s why havoc derank system should be simply removed, it never made any sense the demotion
and havoc it’s just meant for the challenge, regardless of win or loss
nobody’s entitled to anyone else’s time or effort. I find this extremely gross and frankly very offensive that you somehow suppose that people are somehow obligated to contort their play (of a game they paid for btw) to how you decide how the game should be.
Interestingly, the game literally has a button that lets you report other players for ruining the gaming experience
My hope is that the system will be designed in such a way that players won’t even need to use that button
You know what would be a better solution? Just don’t play with people whom don’t align with your goals. People have a thing called “free will”- and if you want to ensure that just don’t play with people whom don’t align with the way you play rather than try to peddle the system.
That’s great advice. How do I go about identifying these players?
In real life, there are no Psykers who can read people’s minds
You… talk to them? Use your words? You have a text box and voice chat to use along with an entire in-game system that allows you to allow or deny other people.
Another “win harder” slop posted by the same user. I also have a suspicion they are using AI to write for them, as style of writing changes drastically from post to post.
a topic so bad i’m agreeing with rvl ![]()
That’s the whole point of this topic. A player who loses at H40 level 9 times out of 10 does not deserve the H40 rank. For example, I lost four out of four games yesterday. In two of them, there were two of these fake H40s and one strong player each — one with rank 29, the other with no rank at all but with a title showing they had once, not this season, reached rank 4. Oh, if they’d both landed in the same lobby at the same time, it would have been an easy ride. But they got diluted by the fake H40s. Explain to me why a player who hasn’t reached rank 40, after losing nine games in a row, will drop three ranks, while a player who has reached rank 40 won’t lose a single one? Is that fair?
Actually, I’m even thinking of not letting rank 40 players into my lobby — but a rank 39 player, now that’s someone I’d be happy to have. Unfortunately, I tried that once, refused a rank 40 player, and two players who were already in my lobby immediately quit: they didn’t appreciate my approach. And these rank 40s often aren’t even playing on PC, but on consoles, and with off-meta builds. But damn, it feels downright rude not to let them in — the team wouldn’t understand. And it’d be one thing if they carried with those off-meta builds, but when a meta Psyker at level 29 deals 2.5 times more damage than an off-meta level 40, and on top of that the off-meta goes down first while the meta dies last — it begs the question: was it even worth letting that off-meta rank 40 hero into my lobby? Damn, if there were a text banner saying “entry forbidden for players exactly at rank 40” — I’d absolutely put that up
How about stop claiming anything you don’t like is trolling/AI/[insert racial slur]
You can’t. That’s the gamble of playing with randoms online.
The issue with derank is that it punishes good players the most.
You are a generous player who accepts off-meta builds to your lobby? Get punished by selfish players who bring weapons to Havoc, despite never using them in auric. (I’ve had Thunder Hammer Zealot who doesn’t know you should charge heavy attack after special activation).
You are the best player in your lobby who survives the longest and/or does 50% of entire kills? Get punished for derank, just because you accepted some clueless randoms who got carried to fake Havoc 40 clearance.
Derank doesn’t only punish idiots like that Zealot leaver you complained about. So that’s why it’s bad mechanic.
you really got it backwards though hinting at the main issue itself.
a “real solo 40” is out of the capabilities of most players and but a few op talents.
the “right” approach would be only having 40 as the default setting and losing as its normal outcome.
that way if the game puts you in a bag of suboptimals you lose 5 minutes and try again.
if by chance or premade you find 3 likely skilled players and you work hard enough, you win.
like making sure everyone’s putting in his 25% by mechanical means instead of abusing a oneshot button.
It isn’t. The entire system isn’t fair or really at all well designed. Everyone here, including noobs and hardcores, actively hates the demoting system and wants it gone so everyone can simply enjoy harder content at their own pace. That’s why havoc 40 is widely played as you’re not subject to losing the way you want to play is- surprise surprise- is very enticing.
The real answer isn’t to punish people for making the best of a broken system; it’s to not have that broke system at all. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Look, in a perfect world filled with unicorns and rainbows, our Havoc would never get derank. And everyone can write whatever description they want in their party finder and check their teammates’ gear to find exactly the teammates they’re looking for.
But this is current Darktide, and if Fatshark wanted to spare us some suffering, they would have done so already. So the only thing I can hope for is that they’ll punish irresponsible players just as harshly.
What irresponsible players?! People are just playing the game how they like, my guy! Don’t impose your broken will onto others!
Do you know what’s really irresponsible? Going into a public havoc 40 match without setting any sort of ground rules, expectations or and then complaining about others not meeting your desires! Who does that?
