Yea, FS should listen to the community. I am tired to see each and every update just adding more powercreep to the game while we got some minor non-nerfs.
It is always just more power adding to the already exceeding redundancy levels. It is no fun if everything on Cataclysm dies within one or two hits. That’s not why higher difficulties exist.
The last patch did not nerf much, just some tiny slaps on the hand. On the other side, we once again got a lot of unnecessary and overpowered buffs. It would be nice if we could at least balance for Cataclysm (even better Legend) instead of balancing for Weaves endgame.

Jumping in late, but now I’ve had time to use a variety of different builds with the changes. The problem isn’t that jav was nerfed imo. I don’t see anyone arguing that. But as someone who enjoys the high level difficulties, it was too much. The jav was an exceptional weapon cable of horde clearing, special sniping, and armor damage. While the nerf might have toned down how stupid good it is at lower difficulty and attempted to create a niche, the problems with this heavy of a nerf really shines on cata+. The extreme cleave reduction makes special sniping more difficult not unbearable and completely gets rid of horde clearly, but additionally the time to kill on elite’s especially chaos warriors is just sad now. The versatility of the weapon and skill ceiling is what made this weapon one of my favorites. Between having to learn how to snipe great distances and using it effectively in melee combat, it was still overtuned, but was compensated a bit with skill requirement especially not hitting teammates XD. Imo the only time jav should be taken over longbow at this point is if your weapon has even worse armor damage than jav has now, which is really only dual swords and maybe great sword when talking about ttk. Longbow takes out specials and elites faster, and ammo isn’t the argument at high level… run conservative shooter everyone should be hitting headshots at this point. The only thing jav has over longbow now is mobility/dodging which doesn’t make it worth it.
As someone who enjoys salty and sienna more, I don’t understand the nerf after nerf to elf. Battle wizard has always been the best career in the game imo, cable of doing everything very well, but she gets lightly slapped on the wrist when nerfs come around, and with her nerfs come buffs? I’m not complaining about that because I love her, but I can clearly see double standards especially in community feedback. I would’ve taken most of siennas staffs over jav any day before the nerfs, but very few people complain about her other than coru staff. I scrolled back a couple years worth of patch notes, and other than the rework to shade that some argue wasn’t a buff given the ping in most lobbies, the elf has mostly been nerfed. I think the problem with this post is they are listening to community feedback, the majority of community hates the elf so this is what we get. Make two posts on Reddit praising the elf and one trashing the elf and just watch the difference in response.
Trollhammer, masterwork pistol, coru staff, griffon foot were also all paid for range weapons and they all excel in their “niche” much better. Looking at changes made to just paid for ranged options, why hit jav and moonfire with nerfs so much harder? Jav was all around too good, but this nerf to both cleave and armor just kills whatever “niche” it should be in because it’s outclassed by elf’s other range in both elites/specials/horde clear, and extremely pales to other characters like sienna and bardin (almost did before the nerf too which is also why I’m confused they hit the jav so hard). Moonfire feels terrible to use (yes I’ve seen the videos) it still takes too long imo compared to other options when everything is hitting the fan. I’ve tried it a lot because I originally bought forgotten relics for that specific weapon, i hate it on cata+ now, but I still use everything else in that weapons pack. Jav feels like you’re throwing a pencil now, we all can’t be John wick! I love this game, but I think the elf hate has taken the nerfing too far compared to the treatment of everyone else, or I’m missing something in the backend. I try to be understanding of the balance changes because there is a lot going on in the game and I’m not an expert, but as someone who has put a decent amount of hours into the game on all the careers at this point, that’s my opinion on jav and elf treatment. I hope one of those nerfs to javs is reverted, I don’t really care which. And please please please do something with moonfire bow. I haven’t seen any other weapon in the game receive nerfs as severe as these two since I’ve been playing, or to the character overall. Coru was lightly nerfed a couple times to bring it down but moonfire and jav just get smacked? Even coru staff got a buff to damage while in the pillar still? Reduced overcharge cost of primary to compensate nerfing pellets? Not complaining about that just pointing I don’t see that treatment on the elf
