What? People leaving (at least the problematic way) happens this way:
1, they do something dumb or just are not good enough for the given difficulty
2, then they die
3, then they leave
If you just leave out of the blue it just looks like a disconnect.
edit: And FYI for others: if someone leaves a maelstrom mission while it is off the board, no new players comes. We have talked about it a thousand times. This “JusT wAIt foR a neW PLayER” argument is not okay.

leaving has always and will happen, yes.
but the current spike and certain penances are begging for a connection.
people suck and fail as a constant and even xbox is onboard long enough to be counted as “usual suspects”.
so nothing major new came to the table.
but having the team shuffle 3 times like a bad hand in poker is a recent phenomenon, at least to me.
would be interesting to see if they altered the criteria into “finish” x auric missions, akin to the be xx amount of health left for 80% of the match zealot kinda thing.
that be some “positive” direction for a change.

for what its worth i upload 80% of what i’m playing.
(80% of matches that went start to finish and as a result are “enjoyable to watch”, if the chemistry wasnt there i dont cause part of the reason is giving others an external view on their game)
so there’s clearly more switches than usual.
besides i was testing to make my thumbnails more appealing and added the players names.
dropped it 2 weeks or so after for realising the names in the loading screen werent the peeps at the ending.

I remember when the forums ripped me for suggesting Alt+f4 penalties. Glad we have made progress on this discussion.
The fact there is a MOD to enhance the alt+f4 experience makes me think nothing will change or be addressed.
and i think we are getting somewhere with how certain “auric maelstrom behavior” should be handled.

Agreed. It’s always seems to be the “high levels” who have the scoreboard mod, yap and yap about how you should play. I had the misfortune of playing with this one guy twice. First time he went down he left it was hilarious. He blamed it on “connection issues”. Beat the game without him. Second time he was running his mouth telling me what I should do and how I should play and left in the middle of the mission with his duo partner and still beat it without him lmao. Absolutely hilarious. Had to block him.
Anyway I think the culture shifted ever since that title came out. How we shift it back, I don’t know. And I will say I’ve seen less and less leavers but we still have some work to do
Mods or no Mods. Some people are arseholes.
On the other side Mods can(!) make people better (team)players.
Personally I do better because of Mods, because I got more Info on what my teammates need.
