We are aware of an EAC error currently occurring on launch. This is related to the ongoing AWS outage which is affecting many online services and games.
EOS auth status = failed. result = EOS_UnrecognizedResponse
Unfortunately, there are no current workarounds or fixes, and we are waiting on our service providers and a resolution to the AWS outage.
I was part way through a game and Violation Type: AUTH_ERROR Cause: EOS auth status=failed, result=EOS_UnrecognizedResponse message popped up on the top right corner. I have already tried verifying the files on steam and repairing Easy Anti-cheat but I still see this message every time I boot the game and I am unable to play. I do not cheat and have only downloaded mods in the modded realm to be able to play in a larger party.
I’m no way qualified on this subject nor I have the answers but, since this is Easy Anti-Cheat problem, here’s two things you can try.
First:
Go to EasyAntiCheat directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat)
Run EasyAntiCheat.exe and select repair.
Second thing you can do is go to %AppData% and select EasyAntiCheat folder, zip it and paste it on this for FatShark to take a look at the logs.
(Since FatShark already responded on this while I was typing, keep in mind they acknowledge the problem. So at best case scenario your only hope is to wait, but you can still try the EAC repair method and it never hurts to send the logs for them may they be curious about it.)
As you are based in Russia, we’ve also seen these types of errors caused by ISP or government blocks, which unfortunately we’re unable to resolve on our end.
It can be helpful to temporarily switch to a mobile data connection, or use a VPN (though I appreciate these options aren’t always possible to try) and check if the error persists; which can help to determine if the issue is network/ISP-related.
