Loaded on the experimental patch that disabled the portraits. Played about 7 maps and have had 0 crashes.
System and specs:
Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 7950x
64 GB GSkill RAM 6000 MT/s
nVidia 4090 FE
Game threads setting = 16
Prior to the patch, I had to set the threads to 1. Crashes were regular (average of maybe 25% of the time). If I set the threads up to 16, I’d crash almost every map.
3070, 9700k, 32GB
0 crashes after update. 10hrs played. Even with uncapped FPS. Previously it was capped at 80 fps and helps to mitigate CTD situation.
Mid settings, DLSS Balanced, QHD
I used to crash every mission unless I had worker threads on 1. I went to play some Mechwarrior 5 with my friend and also crashed with an error telling me the computer lost contact with my gpu.
I opened my machine and reseated my graphics card (and cleaned out dust).
I also plugged in the ‘optional’ extra pcie power header on my motherboard which according to the manual increases the pcie power from 27 to 60w. This may have been an issue since I have 5 pcie4 m.2 drives running off those along with my 3080ti.
Then I booted into my BIOS. I applied XMP settings from my memory rather than XMP from my motherboard and then increased the voltage from 1.35 to 1.36.
I just got done running missions with 16 worker threads without a crash on the Windows Store version of the game.
Issue Description:
Since i installed the game, i could only end the tutorial.
After that, i tried to start scenarios and then the game crash at various moments:
-During loading
-At the beginning of the game
-During game.
After that, I encounter difficulties to get past the luncher (game crash again) and when i succed, i got crashes during loading or right after being back in the game Crash Report (If Applicable):

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start the game
2. select Zealot – Preacher
3.select a mission
4a. crash during loading
4b. crash in game
5. go to the luncher and start again
6a. crash
6b. load the current mission
7. crash
Swicthed to normal release (new patch) and crashes returned, can’t change FOV in options, crashes instantly .
No crashes with previous experimental build.
This is game is always in beta version.
Just installed latest update and going into settings to change sensitivity caused a CTD.
After restarting the game any time I try to go into settings CTD. What is going on?
Hi, could you push out an updated experimental branch that is compatible with the new patch please? Was having a great time without crashes using experimental branch yesterday. Crashed within minutes getting into a game today.
GSync ultrawide with GPU downclocked 200Mhz too btw…
experimental should be back and working with the latest content patch. I missed one commit when cleaning out on the experimental branch. I was hard-capping worker threads to 10 in the engine, this is no longer the case. But you can emulate this behaviour using the launcher if needed.
Thanks I didn’t get to see this yesterday I noticed on my own that it might be NVIDIA Experience, initially I removed the “overlay HUD” that people said it could cause issues, but later I just decided to uninstall it completely, I do still get crashes, but less often. (I noticed it was this tool when I started having crashes on Total War Warhammer 3, Darktide crashes are now less often).
