KNOWN ISSUE: Crashing at Random, Due to GPU-Related Errors

All good StudMonkey.
but if you have stress tested your hardware and done all the ā€œfixesā€ for LiveKernelEvent then i don’t think it’s your system, it is the game having a problem making the GPU hang and then crash the game if not the Nvidia sys file.

and for the bucket id then it should show up at the bottom like this pic.
But doesn’t do it on all events if it can’t get the info.

All these posts regarding GPU crashes and game hangs are because of your system. The issues have been resolved as per the developer change log on the recent patch update and as a result you are wasting your time and everyone else’s posting such things and need to factor in your current hardware configuration and dial down any overclocks, because the game has been patched and address such issues.

Here are the official patch notes and the outstanding issues, NOTE: GPU crashes are not included as an identified issue - so if you have bought this game and expect these issues addressed, it aint on the road map:

Edit: I still have crashes every second game but apparently its my system.

It clearly states in the middle of your picture that they are still investigating the GPU crashes. Why try to spread misinformation?

SMH, can you not read even what YOU posted? It says ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING, there are still TONS of GPU related crashes to fix.
Here is a crop from the pic YOU POSTED (you could have just linked page and quoted text)

The irony is, while my situation improved over the last 2 patches, it got worse for others (e.g. one of my buddies).

Please don’t talk about things you know nothing about. I haven’t crashed ONCE before the current update, now I can’t finish a single mission without having to deal with at least one crash. It’s all Fatshark’s fault.

I’ve been having crashes since day 1 of the pre-launch beta. I have currently 117 crash dumps in my folder. Sometimes the game even trash when I’m standing still in the hub. Attaching the most recent crash log.
console-2022-12-20-11.30.21-a0a11174-f38f-4972-965c-768e559b2775.log (165.7 KB)

  • I have tried everything in-game-settings-related
  • I made sure all my PC components are up-to-date (including bios and even freaking bluetooth drivers, even though I never use bluetooth lol)
  • I tried rolling back to probably the most stable recent nvidia drivers (522.25), it made no difference (I’m back on the latest drivers)
  • I have tried everything Fatshark recommends in their troubleshooting guides (disabling services and whatnot), scannow said there are no problems with my PC
  • I have made sure my GPU is not overclocked or undervolted
  • I have stresstested my CPU and GPU at the same time for 1.5h (Prime95 + Aida64), 100% load on both, absolutely 0 problems, temps were fine too

Nothing has helped (with one exception). And this game is the only game I have problems with. I’m 99.99% sure it’s not my PC’s fault.

I haven’t tried wiping my windows and going back to Windows 10 or older version of Win 11 (I’m using Win11 22H2) and I’m not willing to go that far but some people it has helped.

Whenever I crash, windows event viewer shows a problem of source ā€œnvlddmkmā€

The only thing that seems to help is setting thread count to 1 in launcher’s settings (even 2 is too high). Which tanks my 90-130 fps to freaking 35-60, so I’m not doing that.

But isn’t that weird that CPU thing (multithreading) causes GPU-errors (nvlddmkm)? People in this thread have suggested that players with 3XXX and 4XXX GPU series are more prone to crashes. What if… what if this game just can’t fu*king handle high fps? That would explain why setting the thread count to 1 helps and why people with older cards don’t crash.

So I created this Steam thread to test that hypothesis but some ppl in this thread claim to be playing and high fps without any crashes. I have no idea at this point…

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the last one or two patches seemed to alleviate the problem a little. I used to crash like 3-5 times per match, now it’s more like 1-2 per match.

Yep, I have to cap fps to 60 to not crash, which is the only fix for me, I can play plenty of games without crashing, but every once in a while one will sneak in, but then I am not sure if it’s a GPU some things just causes the game to crash, such as a trapper netting you from a higher elevation etc.

Wanted to check in back here after sitting it out for over a month i guess?
Wanted to wait for it to get fixed… was one of the first who wrote here, posted here, a long long time ago.

Forget all the fixes, it clearly is a game problem.

I am rocking the hardest games (POE super juiced) and newest games for HOURS without a single crash. My system is ROCK SOLID stable. It’s the game.

See you in a few months homies.

I mean, in Vermintide the game much harder if you host the game with beefy computer (CPU) because ā€œGame Directorā€ can spawn much more enemies, etc.

There is even a ā€œhackā€ to limit CPU usage to 1 core as host and there would be literally a ghost town in missions. Like, no mobs and stuff. I believe they didn’t ā€œfixā€ it because that’s the way they made the engine/host/player operate and they can’t do anything about it because task is like ā€œrewrite everythingā€.

They tried to implement dedicated servers in Vermintide 2 but something very wrong happened and they scrapped this idea entirely.

Right now they made Dedicated Servers and maybe, just maybe (crash logs usually mentions "receive something (vfx, etc.) from the future before the ā€œhungā€ and crash), when you go ā€œHigh FPSā€ above 90-100 (I play at High Refresh Rates, locked game to 165 FPS with my 4090) the game just crashes for you with GPU power spike because it’s cant render something aka ā€œdivide by zeroā€ situation or some type of ā€œdesyncā€ happens. (or both)

For me it feels like the higher FPS your system can run the game (100 FPS+), much more crashes you would get. But that’s purely a speculation.

All in all it look’s like the ā€œpile of sh*tā€ is too deep for them to handle.
Hopefully, they got someone with big enough shovel - but the clock is ticking from the Closed Beta already.

Do players with AMD cards get crashes as well?

Issue Description:
Alright, going to start with I used to play this game with a 1070TI and an i7-9700KF and had hardly any crashes. I then upgraded to a RTX 3070 with an I7-12700K which was alson on Windows 11. I play on steam. The issue I’ve been having is that I crash out in the middle of missions all the time. Sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row. Occassionally my entire PC will crash when the game crashes. This is a brand new PC so I’m pretty confident it’s not corrupted hardware or software and this is the only game I have issues wiht.

the game is unstable… nothing change . This situation is like i give my money for your game and after you discover that my money is fake .
another suggestion …
the gameplay of this game is about constantly relaunching game and wait for crash … nothing more… and for this reason you have the amazing idea to add with the last patch ā€œmaintain pushed space bar for skipā€ā€¦ SERIOUSLY … are you doped ? LOL you are out of mind seriously
