No problem on latest driver, been playing Darktide since that driver released. It might be Nvidia specific feature i.e. GSYNC, REFLEX, DLSS, FG, SR, DSR etc.

My game crashes randomly between 5 minutes sometimes 20 or 30 maximum and it’s only since last update. I have no crash log and i have tried every fix suggested. Playing without mods, reinstalling game and i even reset my PC to factory settings to have it clean 100%.
It still just crashes randomly… I don’t know what to do anymore and i’m really sad about it because i can’t play anymore
I’d try a clean re-install of windows from USB stick than using windows “reset this PC” option.
Microsoft website for Windows 11 has option to create USB bootable for you. “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” option.
Backup your data/games etc so you can copy them back to appropriate folders without having to re-download them all.
Crash - During Play
Its just all the time. just trying to play the game is the most recent crash. its not consistent either really. first it was happening in hub when i tried leveling up masteries, then when i swapped the battery on my headset and this report i made just for you and it was at the start of a mission when we had just made first contact
the only thing that is of note is that im a returning player and havent touched the game in serveral months…some bs to return to to be sure

This usually happens when going up an elevator whether it be mid-mission or end-of-mission elevators taking us out of the mission. So far has only happened 3 times across several months of playing.

Any time I see this, the only thing that makes any difference is changing graphics card drivers. I don’t know about nVidia but I’m on AMD Adrenaline ‘25.5.1’ and running smoothly. Other versions seemed to have created exactly this issue for AMD.
I’ve tested settings and other things extensively, to no avail. Save yourself the time from trying to validate the game files and toggling graphics settings. Just test different graphics card driver versions.
If you figure out a successful version, post it here for others so they have an idea of what driver version might work for them.
The funny thing that these crashes started right after the 20th of May update, and the same day my WIndows forced his own update. And I don’t know whether it was the game’s crash that caused my PC to reboot and to update Windows, or was it the update itself that started the game crashes.
I’ve reinstalled the Windows today, but crashes still persist. Oblivion also started burning my processor, PoE2 crashed once. The First Descendant works normally.
I’ll try to mess with the driver versions, although I hadn’t updated them before the crashes started.
It plagued AMD users a lot not so long ago, even the last driver I had to roll back to 25.3 to avoid the loss of fps, so bad, it was barely playable.
I’ve heard Nvidia, normally not dealing with the same issues, having the same problems since months already. Always good to roll it back to your former driver version you used, to see if there’s any difference. Usually, it’s the GPU driver and not the Win update.
Maybe try flashing your motherboard BIOS to the newest version, a few Intel CPUs and motherboard BIOS versions were bricking CPUs
Could be some other issue on your mobo too (chipset issues), just go the manufacturer website and poke around.

Use 576.28 and you’ll be fine.

Been having this type of crashes since I built a new rig ~february this year. Win 11, 5090. Never seen this on my old rig with win 10 and 3090. So as you see, this happened way before 576.40.
Going back to December isn’t an option for me XD
In the beginning of Darktide, lowering the amount of working threads for high end GPU’s was mandatory to avoid crashes, maybe it’s still a thing?
You can change them in the first screen you get after hitting start. (settings - worker threads)

After reading through all your comments, I was finally able to avoid the DirectX 12 crashes huge thanks to everyone here
I’ve started a thread on the NVIDIA driver website to raise awareness and hopefully gather more support so we can push for a fix to the ongoing DX12 crashing issue. Unfortunately, this crash happens in every DX12 game I’ve tested. For reference, I’m using a 4070 Super GPU, and every DX12 game I’ve played with driver version 576.40 and above has ended up crashing without any clear error messages.

For me, I’ve run like that since 2023 as I was running on 5950x then and 9950x3d now, so same settings in this regard on the 3090 = no problem.

this problem started with the latest update of video drivers from Nvidia. I fundamentally do not want to reinstall an older video driver.

Hi, I’ve also been receiving crashes consistently, making the game quite literally unplayable. Approximately 2 - 8 minutes of being in a mission (sometimes even less) my game crashes. I’ve tried a multitude of different graphics settings including fullscreen, windowed, different resolutions, and anywhere between minimum and maximum graphics. Any help appreciated.

Based on the error message, it appears to be a crash caused by the GPU becoming unresponsive.
What GPU and CPU are you using?
