I am a level 21 Zealot. I have killed countless mutants while using chastise the wicked but never seem to complete the penance. I have used multiple different weapons, used their special attacks, normal, and heavy getting the kill but never completed it. I would charge and kill mid charge, hit them stop from hitting them and kill them, charge all the way till it stopped naturally and killed them but nothing. I played since the beta a few day before launch and should have completed it then also. Is there any way to fix this since there is no way I shouldn’t have completed this.
not ideal but wait for the mutant to pummel a team-mate then chastise with a heavy attack using a strong 2hd weapon, that’s how i got it done.
I managed to complete this penance today, bear in mind that when it says “Mutant” as the target, they mean that small ogryn that dashes forward, grabs someone and smashes them into the ground over and over. The one with the kinda yellow postules on its back and spawns fairly often and is fairly easy to kill.
What I did was charge up a heavy attack, then dash forward and left click the mutant once i was on him. I’m pretty sure the thing was at the end of its charge though, I’m not 100% that you need to hit it mid-charge. I think you just gotta hit the sweet spot where its been hit one or two times already and a final heavy melee attack on it just kills it. Actually hitting the thing while you’re charging as well can be tricky, team mates usually kill the thing before you get the opportunity.
Only really took me a few tries to get it though, when I was actively trying to get that specific penance done.

After several days trying to achieve “Abhor the Mutant” in every possible ways, i’m glad to here that this one is cursed !
PLEASE, BY THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR, PURGE THIS BUG AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE !

The description is misleading you to the path of Chaos ! You shall refer to the tech-priest machine named STEAM to see what the Emperor really wants you to do :
“As the Preacher, kill a charging Mutant with a melee attack while Dashing”.

Just want to say this is still an issue, Cliffhanger is a pretty nasty achievement to get as it is. But I definitely pushed 7+ off a lethal ledge (twice in one mission) and I havent had that progress tracked / the achiev popped.
Slightly related, the steam achievement is still listed as 20.
I done with no doubt the penances “abhor the mutant” and “up close and personal” and nothing get unlocked…redoing each time both hoping they unlock are quite frustrating…

Clifferhanger has been stuck at 6/7 for me for a long time. Tried a dozen times last night with a full group of premades characters at a number of different locations and it never triggered. Super frustrating.
Issue Description:
Abhor the mutant, the Penance for Preacher that requires you to kill a mutant while dashing, does not work.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Play Preacher
- Use your ability to dash to the mutant
- Attack mutant and land killing blow during said dash
- Achievement does not activate

Uploading personal data to an open forum seems a bad idea, you do not have normal support tickets?
Today 5 times at least, in 1 mission is was 3 times two in charge and one a millisecond after…, (weeklys are working75 % of time, other is luck)
22 dashes later it counted, (also the mutant had stopped chargin a millisecond before i hit him… I still count this as buggy…
Just completed a Malice mission at 02:20 I never fired a single shot but did not receive “Up Close and Personal”.
I made sure it was Malice (because I had just finished a Uprising beforehand in error). Hope you get this fixed. I’ll try again though. It wasn’t that terrible.
Abhor the Mutant still appears to be buggy. I just killed two Mutants solo in a mission while charging with my Eviserator and received zero credit.

In the first attempt I “dashed” using Chastise the Wicked and swung per the achievement as it is written. This started my Eviserator special attack as I had queued it before charging.

And in the second I tried a suggested trick where I used Chastise the Wicked while already using the Eviserator special attack, which is historically reported to work to get the achievement.
