Doing like the 10th run, trying to use nothing but melee and it’s pretty much getting into the “mission impossible”
Has anyone else noticed the same or it’s just me?

It does take forever that’s why I always swap those out.
Kill X with melee, especially scabs, just takes forever and should be swapped out.
The above is the most efficient way to get the weeklies without having to do anything weird gameplay wise or grind too much. On damnation can usually get it in about 4 missions.
I posted (like many more) a thread about this problem months ago… Running always into melee just to kill that specific enemy type is annoying, because if the random dudes in my team have the kill scab/dregs with ranged weapons contract, yeah then it gets tricky… And now with a group of “Yondus” in ur team spamming Assail, yeah say goodbye to melee kills… Really annoying
They just should change the contracts to “Kill the scab/dreg” without the melee/ranged combat binding… But the end of story was that ppl claimed “I could just do a reroll” (yeah I know but after 10 rerolls for all chars I’m broke jeez) or that when I don’t get 1000 melee kills in 2-3 games I have an “skill issue” … Okaaaaay, then that’s just how it is
Melee takes longer on most (not Zealot) characters because most random players just shoot back at the shooters.
Scab seem to spawn in higher frequency as shooters, that’s what it feels like. I have no numbers to back it up, but that’s just what I experienced.
So getting the melee kills takes a long time. Ranged is always easier.
@FatsharkCatfish pass it along, this system is abhorrent and needs to be changed, farming melkies like this is a slog and a half, either remove the system entirely or make kill contracts that don’t require specifics, just simple kill 1000 enemies or so, no range no melee
Not just that but rerolling contracts should not have a scaling cost, in fact it sholdnt have a cost full stop because I can lose 700k rerolling these to be what I want and what tier I want them to be, suddenly I see a curio with 17% toughness that’ll likely never show up again and I’d have to rush a mission just to be able to afford it because I’ve lost all my dockets
I give up with this system it sucks so bad
After the account wallet merge it became impossible for me to even discharge this money. But yeah weeklies like most game systems really need to be revisited.
It’s very rare for me not to finish a contract by the end of the week.
But then I only have one character.
Had to do another Maelstrom with “Scabs only” and 1 more mission to finish it.
That’s really rough, but I didn’t notice such troubles before patch#13
Personally, I grab:
Kill X monsters
Collect Diamantine
Collect Plasteel
Complete 8 missions
Complete 6 missions without anyone dying
That way I get to play how I want too without feeling forced to engage in a specific way when I otherwise wouldn’t.
Part of the problem is that 90% of the scabs are killed by assail psykers rolling their face on the keyboard before you can hit them with your sword.
Before assail was added they’d just be gunned down very quickly. That challenge is just inherently annoying.
The truth is that these missions of killing x enemy in x ways are quite annoying, it would be a huge improvement if it was just killing no matter how, they are heretics, what does it matter?
I feel like dreg trash mobs are just more common both bruisers and stalkers.
Agreed, just change it to kills generally. Otherwise it encourages really dumb counter intuitive tactics for the sake of ticking off your arbitrary to do list.
It didn’t used to be an issue at all, but now Assail exists and nothing that isn’t an elite stays alive long enough to hit it with a stick.
Carapace armored elite.
Huh? Definitely not my experience at all.
Whether it’s the Assail Psyker now, the Autoshredder Pistol Vets then or even baseline Lasgun players - Scoring melee was always harder than ranged.
When enemies start firing at you, you naturally have a defensive reaction to fire back. Nobody but a crazed Zealot player would think “How do I run those 30 meters up to the hostile sharpshooter, so I can bash his face in with my sharpened kitchen knife?”.
The majority of dreg and scab enemies are shooters or at least have a rifle of sorts.
You do the math.
