Karnak Twins ambush, should be permanent content within the game, and should not be removed.
Anniversary things, content like put on rotation is bad in my opinion. The same was for A Quiet Drink in Vermintide II.
I’m aware later there will be a mission called, spoiler: “The Orthus Offensive” where we will fight the two bosses, hopefully that map is not time limited.
But the ambush should be just a permanent random mechanic in any maps, that links to the new future map when it will be released.
I’d like to have Traitor Captain patrols as a new mission modifier, which spawns an assassination target Captain out on patrol with his followers to fight, or skip I guess if the situation allows for it.
We are going to fight and kill them later on, so I guess having them run around out in the world after that would be a problem, but you could add other ambushing bosses in.
yes makes sense chronologically speaking i guess.
Even though, when playing maps there is no real specific timeline, so what happens in that map, happens in that map, and the previous older maps, even if they would spawn, i do not think it would conflict with the timeline, because old maps are supposed to be the “past” if you know what i mean
yes these new bosses will have a map dedicated to them, hopefully it is not time limted that as well.
But sadly i think the map will be time limited as well, and the ambush thing will be a limited time event, that will link this new map put on rotation yearly, just like it was A Quiet Drink as anniversary event for Vermintide II.
I agree.
I find this especially weird since it’s a really cool way of mixing gameplay up. I even say, take it further. Don’t have a solo boss randomly spawn. Make it a mini-boss killsquad.
Go Wild! Make it a modifier! Something!
Don’t have some of the coolest mix-up content disappear after one measly week.
This is live service in true form. Pretty cool having the story unfold in realtime. I can’t believe how many reject teams they have sent down to reclear things, and those two keep getting tf away!
Have you actually played through this “boss fight”? I’m going to celebrate when they’re removed.
Also they’re plainly unfinished content that we’re playtesting, hence the “time limited,” rather than actually desirable content that you’d want to interact with.
The other problem with them is that they’re blocking a monstrosity from spawning, a monstrosity that unlike the twins boss actually progresses your monstrosity killing contract.
They are only here for a week and you don’t kill them and they are far easier to kill than any monstrosity, they shouldn’t count and I too will be happy when they are removed, because they are painfully boring. They are just the captains without shields and poison added. They are adding them to the secret mission next week(confirmed in datamining) and then we will kill them with whatever wacky shielding system they are badly hiding by having a empty shield bar when they show up. I agree that they should be replaced by something cooler though, but the twins aren’t a good encounter.
My guess is that they’re building up to a dedicated Karnak Twins (which has both of them together) boss fight mission - which may even release on the 13th of this month.
Some live service and MMO games out there have half of their content and more permanently locked off because it was time-gated event stuff.
It’s why event content is such a pet peeve of many. If all that time went into improving or adding content to the base game, it would be more compelling. Also, dev time better spent.
I play destiny 2. I’m an expert on that topic. No need to explain.
Darktide so far has been a lot but they barely check any of the boxes when it comes to live service gaming or an mmo. I frankly believe that at the time they merely jumped onto the buzzward bandwagon to make investors happy.
And I’m glad that Bungie is currently experiencing a massive reckoning for making it so popular. There is no better gaming news currently than live services losing money and failing.
