I think it’s pretty good as well, I like the enemies/materials outside being covered in snow. I thought all that work at the end though was leading up to something bigger rather than just leaving though lol
I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw even the Beast of Nurgle covered in Snow. I should’ve assumed it would be but it was still nice to see.
I don’t really like Swagger, but somehow he is less obnoxious than most of the other cast.
Its just…okay. I like it a little better than previous but there just nothing outstanding.
I could barely recognise that enemies covered in snow in all this battles, and seriously, its just small texture change nothing more. Blue rats looks cooler.
Swagger is waste. Hes does nothing, and all this talks from devs “OH LOOK HE WITH US ON A FIELD” is just air shaking. Hes same all this soldiers who stand guard on the bridge or any other background soldies, just a decoration.
Music is weak, i didn’t even recognise that its playing at first, its so bland and on background. Jasper Kyd failed me(( Atleast his prevous track was a banger.
Final part also bland. Hold some E to interact, smack some ice and play tetris(would be cooler) on you tablet. Only to start conveyor belt to see some metal on it WOW! Amazing, breathtakin. Could we atleast had some more interactions? Like maybe make some player push some big battery to a place while actualy holding interact and W buttons, oprating some machinery, like crane?
Honestly i would be more happy if we had actually escort swagger and keep him safe intil he get to control room, that would be something new.
Yeah, a nice addition, just mind the ledges and barrels…
The middle section right after the train is quite fun.
The open areas are just full of cheap shot hiding places for snipers and corridors are riddled with instant-death pox bursters doors. That sucks.
The middle and final arenas are just too damn large with enemies spawning from all directions. I was just dizzy fighting and could not focus on any objective. Now that I’ve finished it I don’t think I’ll be playing it again much.

Don’t miss that very tall ladder at early stage of mission. Room up there often has load of plasteel and another container just outside opposite once you’re up there.
Head back past the ladder and ledge drop back down again.
It would be 1000% more fun if it didn’t have a, literally, never ending stream of trappers spawning. It’s just trapper after trapper after trapper and often multiple at a time. It’s too much. It’s boring dodging infinite trappers as you’re trying to fight every enemy under the sun.
No idea why the AI director has such a hard on for trappers on the new map but it’s really annoying.
I wasn’t sure about the map at first but it’s definitely growing on me.
Tricky if you don’t have a good long range player in the team as it’s a shooter and sniper delight due to all the huge open spaces with very little cover.
Finally ran the mission last night. I’ve now seen it twice. The mission prompts first time around felt sluggish, delayed and left the group standing around unnecessarily. It slows down the tempo, makes the entire map feel chunky, wasting our time. The snowy environment is nice, I like the aesthetic a lot, but the layout design of the area isn’t particularly appealing. It felt fairly ‘meh’, lacking somehow, and just wasn’t as enjoyable as running other maps that I’ve seen dozens of times before.
“Swagger” is a completely pointless, meaningless addition to the map. Counts for absolutely nothing except to feel like the guy’s being a bit of a Mary-Sue. I really don’t care about him, which is probably worse than actively hating him. Don’t waste any more time on thinking of ways to add more NPCs to the game. Please.

after last day/night and 6 hours sleep i went for the “best option” which was HISTG damnation.
fun in its way, still curios to see it I II V E G or C I VI.
pacing seems a bit in favor of the first half.
winding stairway (yes i realized theres corridors after the first yeet ) to the first room where gunners seem the main hazard while you’re pushing buttons and batteries feels a bit anti climax compared to the end.
the “doomtrain” was a nice gimmick and the overall design is top notch, wasnt noticing the jagger dude after his first greeting.
first time i waited if it was an"escort" sorts thing, after that i just ran by.
so he’s being “on the ground” wasnt even noticeable
the ending was a bit of a let down. compared to the first room i was waiting for “it” to start.
so far 7/10 map, now for real modifiers, pretty please

I think the new map is great! The design is nice and also the combat locations are fresh and play well.
What I really miss is the impact on the story. I would think that finding the secret of the original moebian steel would advance the story. I would assume it is an important milestone in the reclamation of Tertium. I hope that Fatshark will attach some importance to the whole story and some sort of progression like Helldivers or Vermintide. Otherwise the achievements in Darktide will quickly feel hollow and repititive, unfortunately.

I like the map, it’s not so much a mission as an adventure with walkways and catacombs and large open spaces with snow.
It’s also more thought and problem solving demanding than the missions usually are.

The new map is very FUN! I was lucky to hop into HI STG with actually working spawns on the mid event. We were flooded with enemies! Specials and elites galore, and a whole sea of poxwalkers! It was so refreshingly challenging and intense! Can’t wait to get back home and play again.
I was in a decent group that had some absolute chaos at the start, nobody realized there was a dead end drop near the start and we got cornered up by a beast of nurgle. Probably one of the only times since the beta that fat beatbag was contributing to the tension.
Soundtrack was a little flatter than usual unfortunately for me at least. Wasn’t surprised to se-err hear Light of the Imperium on the level finale instead. We need another good track on the level of that. Maybe Jesper’s finally getting tired of Darktide too…
Can’t even take much of the level in for the relentless, never ending stream of trappers. Way too many. It must be a bug.

A monstrosity slug spawned on the stair well. Well, two of us with bots … there’s no way past it. Got swallowed while trying to dodge, spat out, then immediately burstered over the edge.
I’m all for a challenge, but I don’t think Monstrosities should be spawning on that narrow ledge tbh !
It was snipers for me. Rocked one sniper, rumbler’d another, then ran like hell from the other three spotting lasers.
I think something’s just up with the special spawns; we’re getting more matched batches than we did pre-patch.
