I appreciate the communities push back on the scummy MTX system in this game.
But let’s all be realistic here, FS has given zero indication that they are considering letting off the gas on their MTX/FOMO/FTP systems, in fact I’d argue they have doubled down on it a couple times already. They have also been pretty clear they are happy to ignore these types of concerns voiced by the community.
Darktide is purely a capital investment by those who are calling the shots, not a passion project. For the FS management this game is about extracting as much money as possible from the player base. Don’t expect anything to change drastically.
They could like at least try with the store

And not just rely on reskins and re-releases.
Frequent re-releases are just dumb from the whole milking whales standpoint because they literally can’t buy them and people who didn’t want to buy it originally aren’t going to go oh yeah I want to buy it now, basically the whole design of the store and how it’s run is incredibly inefficient and stupid.
If this is how they intend to keep cash flow, they’ll go broke.

Meanwhile, you have Netherrealm changing the price of in shop items very speedely after getting feedback that certain items are way too expensive.
Their shop also lets you earn some purchasable items for free

the reason they cycle them is to make it seem as if you have a limited amount of time to buy something, which makes a lot of people want to just buy things before they’re, “gone”. they’ve thought long and hard about how to monetize the game lol this isn’t some oversight and is 100% intentional.
If they thought hard the store would cycle more than twice a month and not have a fomo that takes a month and a half
The more we complain, but more importantly the more we refuse to buy this crap (yes, even if they release a cool armor set, FS does not care if you were frowning at the price as you hit the Purchase Aquilas button)
If this is the path they choose, let them. Good riddance.
This is a large reason I do not interact with that shop whatsoever. If I can’t see what is available then I’m not interested.
I thing most of us are aware of that. Henceforth a small part of why we want it gone
100% this. And unfortunately when it comes to bad management, it’s rarely remedied unless the company goes under. Those at the top will continue to be at the top mandating poor/greedy decisions for the rest of company until the bitter end.
Once in a blue moon, a company will move away from this type of aggressive commercialization. But FS’s management’s previous tone-deafness/inaction is a pretty good indication they are willing to die on that hill.
Waited 2 weeks again only to be disappointed, this time the veteran and zealot are rerun of old cosmetics, the psyker is a recolor and the ogryn is new , but has a recolored metal mohawk.
Ah yes, another two weeks of waiting for the shop to cycle the next set in, only for it to be yet another repeat for zealot… Three times in a row now! Disappointing but somehow not surprising.
If repeats are going to keep showing up back to back, the shop NEEDS to cycle multiple sets and/or cycle more often.
Right now all 3 of the Vet and Zealot Sets are Re-runs, very disappointing.
Ya’ll scared them so much early on that they’re terrified to release new stuff weekly again. Granted, it made sense at the time given the lack of crafting being available and annoying bugs, but the game’s in a much better place now.
These twice a month updates are painful for someone like me. I really want to support the devs, especially after the last few updates. But right now, months go by and I don’t even bother spending any money because 90% of the stuff they put out is just rehashed content that takes two weeks to rotate out (only to be replaced by another set of old stuff). I know it’s for the newer players, but it’s painful to the vets who’ve been playing since beta.
Go back to weekly releases. No one will complain. You already fixed the major reasons why people complained in the first place.
