It's ok if we don't get major updates every month

But for the love of God Emperor, how hard is it to buff underperforming weapons and blessings inbetween updates? So many weapons are borderline unusable in Havoc and even in Auric not at all enjoyable for the majority of playerbase. Give us something to do inbetween major updates, so that at least long time players can tweak or even rediscover their builds.

How long should we wait for you to buff base reload speed of Shotguns by 20% and allow slotting and storing more than one special ammo, make Double Barrel breakpoints more consistent (literary only consistent point blank on stationary targets, in actual games it’s awful).

Autoguns are falling so far behind in the current day of armored elite spam and need readjustments, at least buff their blessings with better +Power values and more forgiving cooldowns to maintain them, so that players with good aim feel rewarded. Like, the need for all these changes are crystal clear to anyone who plays the game semi-regularly.

For months, the newer heavy laspistol has been worse than the original laspistol. Ever since you removed Fury of the Faithful rending from ranged weapons the newer laspistol has been in the gutter of weapon balance, because only FOF Zealots used it. How come nobody at Fatshark noticed it? It’s not just a different weapon mark, it’s an inferior version of the base weapon that does nothing better than the original.

Heavy Eviscerator got completely powercrept by Relic Blade, can you at least give it short invulnurability and stun immunity at base so people can use its special without risking going down everytime they decide to use it? The risk/reward ratio for Eviscerator is not there when Relic Blade has superior Unyielding Damage and horde clear, and also doesn’t lock you in place.

Buff smokes by giving them 10% crit chance for players inside the cloud or 20% damage resistance… At worst you can rollback those numbers next update, where’s the harm? Give Executioner’s Stance 30% damage reduction against JUST shooters so it can see SOME play in Havoc, even with a change like that it’s gonna be a lesser version of Voice of Command.

It’s time to look at what blessings community uses for each weapons and buff clearly underused stuff like Falter, which doesn’t even look like it works when you slot it??

I just question myself, what the balance team is even doing at this point?! It’s been two months of NOTHING but an “event” where you slightly buffed Ogryn spawns, they didn’t even have a unique skin, like the event with mutated horrors.

Totally agree.

The game could have a lot more life and reason to fire it up and mess around with builds if they shook up the meta more often.

These bi-weekly “hot fixes” could include a few simple balance tweaks each time and give people a reason to boot up the game and dust off an old underused weapon and give it a renewed spin.

I think we just need something like a big balance feedback thread. If we could get a big community consensus spread sheet with a lot of balance suggestions in one place that most people agree on, then maybe FS might take that feedback.

Honorable mentions:

Ripper Gun - give it more ammo. Completely outclassed by old and new Stubbers, the days of bayonett rending on special attack is long over.

Ogryn’s cleavers - more base cleave, higher light attack and weakspot damage and make special attacks great again after you nerfed them on bosses. Buff crap blessings like 3s of 15% crit after using special. Right now this weapon is a glorified unarmored killer, the state of its balancing is quite frankly embarassing. This weapon should be a light attack spam weapon, since it’s something that Ogryn currently lacks, with every other weapon revolving around doing heavy attacks.

Grenade Gauntlet - buff melee gimmick blessings, they’re not as nearly good enough to work in practice. I’ve tested those blessings, and you’re better off using normal melee. Make Grenade Gauntlet’s damage scale with projectile’s distance traveled. Longer snipes = better damage, ideally it should oneshot Ragers across the room without perks. It’s one of the more skilled Ogryn weapons, but the skill is not rewarded.

Shock Maul - you’ve added this weapon half a year ago at this point, and people quickly realized there’s barely any reason to use it over existing tools. I almost never see anyone run this weapon but players who jumped auric to test it and then forget about its existance.

Shock Maul is a so-called generalist weapon, but unfortunately it doesn’t excel at anything but stagger. Which, sadly, other tools (staves, Crusher weapon on Zealot, shredder grenades and shout) do much better already. The only saving grace of this weapon became its ability to open up Bulwarks. The problem is that in the age of overbuffed elite/special spawns it’s hard to stun Bulwarks when there’s multiple of them, and the stun itself is way too short to make it count. The stun on the mace should last 2x times longer than it is now for this melee weapon to have some relevance, because knives and duelling swords are generalist weapons too…

Chainaxes are completely overrated by a community of Tide veterans and content creators, when in reality nobody runs them in actual games for a good reason. The weapons’ overreliance on push attacks for horde clear is utterly exhausting in gameplay, and the way it locks and jerks your in-game camera on single hits feels awful, not to mention the special which suffers from the same problems as Eviscerator does. This weapon is not that bad, it just feels clunky to use and you often catch yourself thinking that you’d rather use other weapons which do everything better. Also be sure to check in with otolaryngologist if you play with headphones all the time. The revving sounds and armor piercing sounds should be toned down, considering how often you use special attack on chainaxe, even more so than with Eviscerator.

Should I add this to the Book?

Up to you, my post is not that important in grand scheme of things. It’s just a rant.

Don’t forget the autopistol, the headhunter autoguns, the shotguns. All the melee weapons that are reliant on martyrdom to be useful…

Imagine truly thinking FS reads legit complaints of passionate fans.

It feels kinda unfair to post a thread like mine in the general, but I feel like gameplay feedback section is useless, so I try not to post there. The subforum feels like a garbage disposal centre.

It’s there so people can get the ideas off their chest, and that’s it.

Just recently I read a nice thread about Helbore Lasgun blessing rebalance which was posted last October. So devs had enough time to do SOME adjustements, but absolutely nothing came.

Btw Armorbane is completely useless, because crits from Surgical are essentially a form of armor penetration, so having more crits with classic Surgical+Weight of Fire or Surgical+Infernus is way more potent!

Mandatory fatshark hibernation period moment

This is a well-thought-out post with some fair points and criticisms, but sadly after seeing many such a post going completely ignored or paid lip service by the CM then completely ignored, I know that none of these simple fixes, that would go some way to stopping the player base dwindling will ever be implemented by this out of touch company.

It’s still winter in some places, sweden too most likely. I wouldnt put it off as not being their fault, but also people got holidays to abuse. Lets all abuse the seasons in our own way.

Do you guys remember in 2023 when we had zero com for 6 months because they were working on the xbox port?
That itself is a major evidence the head of this studio does not care.
If we post here it’s because we love the game and the universe, but we’re all falling into the mouth of madness expecting a different outcome every time FS deigns to send us crumbs of patchnote.

I have bought skins to support the game because I enjoy it but the slow dripping and pale content they deliver is increasingly desperating and I don’t think FS will ever fool me again to buy another of their game unless their head radically gets replaced.

No matter how hard you shout, fatshark is blind and deaf.
It took 2 years to change how itemisation works, yet it was T-H-E number 1 feedback that was agreed upon by ALL players no matter the skill level.
We were ignored or gaslit that it was fine until their numbers droped to couple thousand.

You want the game to change? No matter how hard it would feel?
Stop playing it, maybe when it hits 800 concurrent players they once again remember they have darktide.

90% of balance problem this game has stem from extreme overperformers and extreme underperformers. Every single talent, blessing or weapon has a x=y value that could be changed every week or two just to see how it does.
Instead we have a year? Od DUELING SWORDS ONE SHOTTING CRUSHERS meanwhile thunderhammer which should be the Crusher deleter is just sitting there being ameme.

Wait, how is it winter here in Sweden? We’re in February, my dear friend; it’s spring!

It’s not even cold outside; it’s currently +6 degrees Celsius (42.8 freedom units).

Remove the activation delay on Ogryn’s Paul.
Give it’s special way more stagger so it can reliably stagger Ogryn-type enemies (especially crushers) and perhaps the first non-ogryn-sized enemy (except maulers perhaps) hit by a special attack should be a garanteed one shot - but perhaps then no delay could be too poweful.

So either remove the delay and keep the rest as is (as a srarter) or buff the rest to conpensate for the delay.

OR - like back in the days of pre patch 13 - make it a viable fast light attack spammer. Therefore buff its lights (perhaps for weak spot priority and buff its weakspot dmg - i think that’s what they did on Zealot’s Crusher) so that giving up one blessing for “Confident strike” wouldn’t hurt much.

Or give it a niche arround CC with stagger-scaled dmg and I think of this beyond Skull Crusher Blessing
Or at least sth that makes it viable without bleed heavies honoring it’s stagger-CC nature …

Y’know what.

Here.

I’m obsessive enough to maintain the Book of Grudges, consider this an extension of that.
