Item Shop and Crafting

So in short, for the love of the Emperor and all that is holy, give us a crafting system, or allow us to re-roll the shop coz waiting 6 hours to finally hit that refresh so i can get an upgrade of my weapon is utter trash.

Not only is it boring as all hell, it’s actively anti-fun. Where is the player actually engaging with anything other than bad RNG? V2 crafting had its issues, but at least it was something. You could at least craft the weapon you wanted, unlike here where there is literally zero choice.

I hope this changes. If not, I fear for the game’s future coz I definitely won’t be playing it

From a lore perspective, we should totally be able to manufacture any of the weapons we want. We already pick up crafting materials in-game. We already know the patterns for the weapons or already have the weapon/s we want. I also think that the players should have a choice between selling weapons for money or scraping the weapon for crafting materials.

While I’m no lore junky, I’m fairly sure the actual manufacturing of a weapon needs to be done in a manufactorum.
It is incredibly rare for weapons in the 40k universe to be handcrafted. Modified from an existing weapon, sure.
Built from scratch? No. That’s usually reserved for exceptional individuals that the Imperium deems worth expending the resources on.
We rejects … are not that.

The Mourningstar very likely lacks the facilities required to build weapons from scratch.
And they sure as heck are not going to be able to order a manufactorum on Tertium to halt production of whatever its making to build something for some lowly cannon fodder from the Inquisition.

Rather than outright crafting we should instead be getting “Damaged Wargear” during missions.
Essentially, those yellow crates should have Diamantine/Plasteel, ammo/scrips/Grims OR a damaged weapon. Never should it contain nothing (At T4 and above)
Why would our rejects not be salvaging anything useful they could find mid mission?
Take those damaged weapons to Hadron and have her restore it with Plasteel and Diamantine.
Then let us choose what the damaged weapon becomes.
Perhaps even allow us to crank up the bar stats during this process using additional Plasteel.

Technically and functionally, it’s crafting, with the damaged parts being simply a crafting component.
But it wouldn’t mess with the lore as much as it would be if they suggested us rejects were building weapons all by ourselves.
Salvaging damaged weapons is something that happens a whole lot more frequently in 40k than creating wholly new ones.
