As a human sized character, the trapper is able to trap you while behind a NPC character (For example a Bulwark) and certain pillars in the game. If there is a horde and/or even a Bulwark in a way the trap net should miss if even one NPC is in the way or in the path of the trap net. The same is with the hound, I have been in the middle of several hordes where the hound jumps through several NPC characters to disable me.
These are major disablers where the whole teams have wiped because the enemy mechanics are a bit unfair. We canât push the dog off of us (Ogryn can with pain outburst) and we canât get out of the trapper net without help so the mechanics need to be a bit fairer towards the player. I get the flamer, pox burster, bomber, and charger mechanics and they seem a bit fair.
Those enemies all recieved nerfs in some way. Enemies can hit each other with bullets shortly after launch. Tox flame stopped being its own kind of damage that the heretics were immune to + caused corruption and HP damage. The mutant runs over enemies in his path that arenât ogryns or bosses. Dogs push enemies while leaping. The bomberâs grenade can be affected by a strong stagger, or killing them early enough in the animation that it doesnât appear (which applies all the time for tox bomber).
But trapper nets being fired through doors, trains, enemies, floors, I guess its just not a priority
trapper nets are âbulletsâ and work the same way, which means the (hunestly giant) projectile can go through other enemies, through some types of wall, and have hitscan projectile calculations that the visible net is not 100% tied to.
this keeps the nets from being nearly impossible to get hit by since the trapperâs firing logic is unable to compensate these things because it is also generic projectile logic. working as intended, just annoying if you are bad at threat management.
the trapper net is like a flamethrower flame and has all of the same jank like literally flying through a wall as shown. you also canât dodge the trapper by sliding into it so calling it a âbulletâ is hugely revealing on how much you donât play the game.
