Yeah. Darktide in a nutshell. Not one mechanic in this game was thoroughly thought of and tested.
Not one.
In the same kind of stupid perk on weapons I always have one that increases damage after a melee attack on high rate auto rifles on my sharpshooter…perk that would be perfect on the weapon in your screenshot.
On the other hand, that of your weapon I have absolutely never seen in almost 100 hours of play!
There is also the one that improves sprint speed which everyone knows is incredibly useful when playing a class whose role is to kill enemies BEFORE they arrive on us!
Did you test this in the psykhanium ?
No idea if it can work in the same way but I happened to find a Ripper Gun with that Blaze Away (T3).
And even if it’s firing short bursts the Power bonus procs on follow-up shots.
I can even shoot and miss but keep firing and the sixth shot (on target) would deal almost exactly 10% more damage than the initial shot (from 458 → 502 dmg against a Reaper ogryn, non-crit).
(that Ripper Gun does not allow sustained fire)
So there must be some build-in cooldown to allow follow-up shots for the buff to proc.
What about after reload?
It confounds my senses. They had a ton of good community feedback from Closed Beta to Pre-“Beta” from players. There is no excuse for the state the game is currently in. If they needed more time they should have delayed the release and extended the beta window so they can improve things. Instead they rushed for the release, broke the game on day one with toughness change, then implemented a cash shop, and are now on Christmas break while the community is suffering these inane design decisions. Truly this is some good stuff.
It doesn’t work with the Ripper Gun. So maybe it’s too long or the reload cancels the blessing mechanic (which would be a sloppy oversight).
Did you test it?
No but I’m almost certain it wouldn’t work with the rumbler since it has to reload every shot.
- how long?
- 1
Yeah this one had me scratching my head.
I never gave it much testing or much thought that it being rather pointless on a one-shot-and-reload type of weapon to begin with.
So, if you believe it’s broken. Bug report it.
They will either confirm it or point out it’s working as intended and it that case, we are simply not known with the mechanic’s on how it is supposed to work.
I have this on my rumbler too
very disappointing since it’s my favorite ranged weapon for Ogryn, I do have the adhesive one also so that’s good but I would love to replace this blessing
Nope just an accident. Funny though
