Is there going to be an update/announcement this week?

But thats the thing, WE GAVE them feedback.
During alpha
During CBT
During pre launch
And here we are

Plus feedback “why did you lie to us” is met with “crafting isnt lore accurate”

No, they need to be fcking bombared DAILY with posts like these
They need to see darktide being at mostly negative on steam
They need to see the brand f
cking burning right in front of their eyes

AND then MAYBE we will start seeing progress towards the game WE WERE told they are making.
They decided to release the game month before holidays in a state that is barely functioning -not us.
They decided to lie to us
So they will reap the results of their work

I quite frankly share this mentality. Yes, we need to be vocal. How do you expect things to improve without showing your discontent with them?

However, I also don’t think we must show “how we feel”. Instead, we need something substantial. Materialistic, so to speak.

In fact, FS is actually to be charged for false advertising, imo. I have no idea, though, whether it is acheivable in their state’s legal realities atm.

The steam score keeps dropping and the steam charts keep dropping too. That’s substantial enough for me.

I posted a thread on r/DARKTIDE about a “no play boycott” - it was a bit tongue and cheek framing it as a boycott, but the post laid out the many criticisms the community has had going back to the closed beta test.

Long story short, if you’re unhappy with the state of the game the only real recourse you have that will do anything is to just stop playing and stop feeding their metrics.

If enough people do this there are a few possible outcomes:

(1) Fatshark cuts their loses and doesn’t invest much more in the title. This would suck for everyone, but at least you aren’t spending more time on a sinking ship.

(2) Fatshark continues to string the dwindling player base along through dodgy PR messaging and slow incremental improvements to the game. This is frustrating, so you need to decide whether you want on or off the bus .

(3) Fatshark takes responsibility for the state of the game, becomes more honest and transparent, focused development effort on addressing community concerns as quickly as possible. They could do this - other games have made big 180’s in the past. Fatshark has never done this.

Personally, I’ve hung up the game. I have just under 100 hours but no real desire to play more right now. I think it will be at least another month before crafting is implemented, but I’m not too keen on playing more until the mission selection system, rewards, challenges, and RNG shop are reworked. That could easily take 6+ months given FS’s pace. They are also extremely hesitant to rework game systems, so it’s entirely possible this will just never change. In which case I’m not likely to come back.

TIL I have no empathy for expecting a schedule to be kept by a million dollar company. One that said they’re back in the office on the 27th. Well you can’t win em all I guess lol.

Empathy aside, nordic countries tend to have work days between christmas and new years, sure some people take the whole holiday season off if possible, but most businesses dont clear out the entire office for the holidays, especially if there is a crisis going on with one of their products.

White knighters are pathetic.

I have empathy for the CMs who have to moderate our messages with instructions from their bosses when they know that we are telling the truth because a fan never lies about what he likes

Yea, Aqshy is the only person I have sympathy for.
Hedge would be there too if he wasnt, well I dont want to ba banned, but we all know how he communicates

yeah the CMs have to cover the crap of developers or investors who put pressure on developers for the profitability of the “product” because for us it’s a work of passion but for them it’s just a way to fill the fridge good or bad they want the benefit whereas if they invest and give the fans what we want we will just say “take my money” gladly

Maybe we will soon be able to spend some Aquilas to get updates from the devs! Or maybe a certain CM gets an update that we can spend our Aquilas on, so he won’t be so hamfisted and crude in his further interaction with the community.

is FS recruiting? there is so many talented ppl on forum who can fix whole game in a week and make “whole community” happy without taking break. im glad more of you are droping game that will make my experience in game better. why not just take refund it was clear in beta how this will work, dont tell me you waited for crafting? curse of warhammer games is not ringing any bells either? yea lets blame FS for months because you had to spent money right now on game that will be here for years. if you dont trust FS to turn this around just dont play DT i beg you.

Maybe if you post the link to your steam profile, they might give you some free Aquilas for your effort

I take money upfront, just like FS from you  im not defending FS i just dont like whining.
ps: No Man’s Sky taught game companies to never admit they mistakes or apology ever

Well without modded realm that should be a given. They should have a few dedicated groups running on servers they can edit, balancing the game. That sounds weird until you remember that’s exactly how the major updates concerning weapons came about in VT2…

Knowing it would be the holidays, the game had issues, and the content -COULD NOT- be implemented before Christmas, a company should’ve made the decision to hold off until March at the earliest.

I’m mad at Fatshark because a friend of mine bought me this game and now we have no reason to play it at all. If content needed to be slowly rolled out, they should’ve specified a schedule and waited after the holidays. Or even just let the community know there would be no patches for this week, given that the company will largely be on vacation. Instead, they lied that “Crafting would be rolled out through December,” which at this point, anyone who believes anything Fatshark says is either ignorant or stupid. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, three times, N number of Fatshark times…

Now, I’m on vacation and me and my friend have time to play. But there’s nothing to play, except the same missions with the same rewards while I pile up more and more currency that cannot buy anything or change the game in ANY WAY. And after they add content, I’m not likely to come back, because by then I will be either busy in other games or doing something else that’s new. I don’t generally retread old games.

I understand the utility of constantly reminding a company what you think but my God is it tedious and boring.

My Friends and I already moved on. Maybe in a Year Darktide will be more servicable, at the Moment it’s best described as “Well the Gameplay is really fun and engaging but” with a very, very long List of “buts”.
It’s a shame but as the splash Screens teach us “Hope is the first Step on the Road to Disappoontment”.
