They told us we would be getting an update two weeks ago they said it was still in the works and they would update us soon it’s been almost a month overall now what is going on Fatshark are we getting our “proper reward” or not it shouldn’t take this long to get an update at least

-edit fixed the wording I used to better fit it

Where did they say a week or two ?

In the comments they said they are still working on it and that they would get us an update soon that was about two weeks ago

Still doesn’t mean “a week or two”, like they don’t give deadline for this particular reason.

their action speak louder then words I don’t think we can expect anything they have zero respect for the early supporters and probably see us as absolute suckers for laying the beta. I really hoe they don’t make custom sets for us that even more insulting

Why are you riding me over that I edited it after the first comment because I got what you meant and agreed with you the first time

There was a quick fix to this, and that was handing out worthless internet currency to those who purchased the ‘Imperial Edition’ at PC launch. That could’ve been implemented within days of the internet outrage.

Now I suspect they are either ignoring the issue in hopes it blows over, or they are working on the real long term solution. Which is changing the terrible MTX system to allow earn-able currency via play, and they will hand out currency based on some kind of playtime metric. I can imagine this would take more time to implement into the system.

I’d like to think it’s the second option, but I’m not particularly hopeful. Especially since it’s been radio silence.

No way in hell they are thinking of the 2nd option. Its way too soon to stop the cashflow.

So, they are going full scum and are just ignoring the matter. In that case its simple: i wont invest a single euro in aquilas and I wont be buying another FS game ever again.

Right now, this studio is at the same level as DICE, Blizzard, EA and Netherrealm Studios. Basically all destroyed by their own greed and spitting on their playerbase.

I disagree here
I really think that they need to go through a system where:

  • you can buy with ordos classic outfits like we have actually
  • you can buy basic colors with ordos
  • aquilas should be restricted to complex textures and models

And there, they add a system to recolor clothes with the textures we acquire on the models we own. Freedom for us, money for them. Everybody is happy.
And off course…

Lower the prices!!! paying a DLC for just one cosmetic pack is not decent.

To solve the situation, they can:

  • allow compensation in aquilas for people that have acquired models with different colors
  • they would have to rework the weapons a little to make the weapons skins pack as texture and not model. To be fair, someone did it on its spare time and made a mod that allow this, so it should not be difficult for fatshark

At the end of the day, the lowered prices would push people to buy textures and models and they would have more income from cosmetics…
But, I guess they will continue their bullshits… I have no other words for such commercial policy that is limiting so much the income you can get from a project.
Sure, now, it can looks harder to take the right path.

Final word: a better premium shop that display ALL available cosmetics is really needed. It was done with commissary, it should not be difficult to do the same for the premium cosmetics.

Personally I think there should be absolutely no cosmetics that are paid that aren’t sets. Like, they need to totally retool that monetization model. They should be far more extravagant than they are, and the individual pieces should be freely customizable. Like if you want to pull a robot leg/peg leg off a pair of pants, or armor plating. Or another shoulder pauldron, or a camo pattern, or a bonehead implant, goggles whatever. What devalues the premium cosmetics is how lacking in customization they are compounded by the stupid shop rotation, you see a dozen players wearing the same outfits. This is friggin 40k and they literally failed at giving us proper kitbashing.

Then they can make the regular cosmetics less samey, because they wouldn’t have the same freedom in customization.

I’ve heard that argument before. Last time players talked about the Guild Wars 2 store, but because other game developers have stores like this that rotate and are expensive, it undoubtedly works.

Or, as someone else remarked in a topic on this forum, you’re just a little fish in a sea of whales.

I’ll happily support Fatshark financially since I enjoy the game, but for now, the rotating store stops me from buying what I want, when I want.

I’d like to buy things, but the problem is that the items I want, which I can view with mods, have not yet been made available ingame. All I have to do now is sit and wait for them to be added to the store.

It blows, but then again, I’m a little fish, not a whale.

I agree with everything you said @Ralendil but it is what it is.

To be fair, I am exactly the man they like.
I have bought several cosmetics… and even if I can afford them without problem, I think that prices are too high.
It dissuades to buy cosmetics, and it generates frustration behind this wall of money

I really think they could lower prices and get more money…

I think we can all agree that the prices are absolutely egregious. It’s even more shocking when you factor in the lack of overall quality and customization. In their current state they are barely worth a couple of bucks.

Aint no way they can risk letting it blow over anymore, once they put out the “proper reward” message, they were committing to something. Maybe they’re just so damned greedy they don’t want thousands of people sitting on 12500 aquillas? So they’re coming up with a wacky solution to the problem. Maybe some kinda of one-time redemption code?

Astounding how long this is taking them though.

It’s FS, they most certainly can. I guarantee that’s been floated by a couple times by management.

I’m just waiting to see if we get a Creative Assembly level meltdown over this. I doubt they are that stupid or desperate but it would be really, really funny.

As someone whos been playing both companies games over the years, this has been a rough year in particular.

All of the cosmetics for me have been ruined by egregious accessory choices, like a mask I don’t like on a hat I do like, which leads to complaints about the lack of customisability, or just technical issues with the cosmetic. They’re not the quality I expect for the price they’re asking.

It’s funny because the weapon customization mod literally proves that darktide could have an armor customization update, They just don’t care and have proven that time and time again over the last 11 months, if it doesn’t make fs money they will not even look into it

I totally agree on this…
we should get option to be able to put or remove accessories.

Candles on zealot cosmetics, is something I don’t like. And with the lack of possibility to apply a simple texture on the models, I am stuck with models that have colors I want to use even if I don’t like them cause of details.
The cosmetic system could be excellent and please everybody, while being a gold mine for FS.
Freedom, balanced price, possibilities to customize are the keys of this.
