It’s true. And I’m guilty too.
But I like to keep my communication intradiegetic by using the voice wheel. I make my character say “Thank you!” when I’m rescued, and also start a charge with a good old “for Atoma!!”.

Unless it’s mutliple Dreg Ragers most of the melee enemy are manageable imo.
But ofc you would need someone to bail you out if you bring up the worse case scenario that need multiple condition/misplay to happen. Out of ammo, 100% heat, in the middle of mixed melee horde with no way out, no grenade, ability on cooldown, bring execstance instead of survival ability. It’s not like any other guns is gonna help you either in the same situation.
Though, this kinda gone long enough already so I’ll just leave it at that. The topic is not really about if Plasma is OP or not but people being toxic in game.
If you so desperately need your main character power fantasy that consists of lazy left clicking in the general direction of everything, and everything immediately dies
Then that shouldn’t be on the highest difficulty
It’s just that simple
Nerf this maximum crutch garbage, stop asking for an additional difficulty level that’s only going to break things further both with balance and the engine, and go play on lower difficulties where you can feel like a completely unopposed superhero
The current state of the Plasma Gun (and VoC bots) is something you should be allowed to do in Malice, not in Auric Maelstrom
No one likes plasma bois, but I wouldn’t leave you to die ![]()
It’s just one of those weapons which is going to be always hard to balance. In the past I just wanted plasma and few other weapons to become limited time only tactical options with really limited ammo. This way we could have the power fantasy and I could have some enemies to kill left alive in the front of me.
Speak for yourself.
I like them.
I am sure that the emperor loves them.
You wouldn’t happen to play on oce and the ‘edgy’ Zealot wouldn’t happen to be Yarvhon?
actually, its a great opportunity to get some free completion by yeeting yourself off the nearest edge and alttab. they’ll pick you up along the way at some point
About the delay on plasma gun, it doesn’t matter.
If you’re playing a psyker, the PG will always kill enemies at a distance faster than you. So if you came on a build that uses brain burst, you might as well not bother using it at all that mission if the veteran is competent. You’re now relegated to being a support and melee.
Doesn’t help that hip-firing plasma gun is extremely ammo efficient, provided you’re not wasting your shots on stragglers that can’t even be tagged.
Hip-firing is simply too strong and powerful compared to its alt-firing, in my opinion.
It’s similar to playing with a psyker who uses smite, it gets really dull. I’ve only used smite because I was curious about it when it was new, and after that the only reason I used it again was to complete my penances.
Who the f- makes a build that is only focused on BB? It’s for rounding out your build and emergency measures.
“There is one thing in the game, that has an even longer delay. Because of that, the delay on the plasma gun does not matter.”
Okay. Thanks for your input.
Btw the BB cast time does not only compete with a plasma gun. It also competes with any other ranged option (none of which have any delay at all).
If you’re using something like the flamer staff or trauma, BB is your only real option for taking out specialists at a distance. So if the game keep spawning enemies at a distance, you got nothing to do as the plasma will melt them first.
I still distinctly remember how frustrated I made a psyker, when I was doing one of my last plasma gun runs, because everything died before he could do anything about them. Though this was back when the talent rework was still fresh, and player power was so high that even auric damnation was a joke.
Sure BB competes with “any other ranged option”, but most ranged options don’t have the same precision. It’s basically just the plasma gun, the precision lasguns and Zarona - and the latter only has 6 bullets before needing to reload.
And even if it isn’t BB, weapons like the Voidstrike Staff still needs to charge up its attacks and probably has the slowest travel time out of any ranged weapons to reach targets.
Just like how smite psykers make it boring for everyone, plasma gun veterans can make it boring for the psyker. Though that obviously can go out the window with high enough intensity.
I think Plasma Gun just needs a slight rework, because it’s hipfire is simply too strong and ammo efficient, and there’s really no reason to use the alt-fire, and by avoiding alt-fire you are never at risk of exploding. So there’s not even a danger to all the power it gives.
Okay, I’m at the point now that I need video evidence from someone for this absolute BS.
I’ve seen some videos from some people with immense skill (eg: killing 10+ elite in a few seconds with lasgun), but the “Plasma just deletes everything before I can even engage” is so wildly outside of anything I’ve seen, done or can even imagine to be possible I must be doing something wrong.
For reference:
Example run:
I can’t, I cannot even imagine someone coming into a match and doing anything close to what you and some others described. Not with getting more pickups, not with ammo aura, no…
This thing that there is plasma player on Auric that can just kill every elite before others can see it is so outside of the realm of possibility I find it downright laughable.
Am I doing something wrong? It’s unique that I see no one else doing close to what you describe? Seesh…
I’ve played with level 1000 plasma players that I outscored with unproven/previously untested meme builds that I slapped together at work and ran with insane packet loss.
I will never stop finding the plasma complainers hysterical. You’ve got knife zealots that can literally clear an Auric Maelstrom map in like 6 minutes, and people are moaning about the plasma gun. Clown world.
Hmmmmmmm
I do believe it was
So let me get this straight. I remake the mission 3 times to try and not play with plasma vets or Psykers who ruin my experience by bringing op crap like plasma and staves (Something I have to regularly do). Forego the benefits of quick play to try and play the game how I want too. Get a 4th match with a plasma vet and just want play. Watch as that Vet shits it up and dies (twice mind you) with one of if not the best weapon in the entire game. Picks up 0 Plasteel and tries flame me for not picking him up and the MOMENT I don’t pick him up he calls me a c**t (Had to censor that world lmao) and I believe some other slur… Then comes and whinge on the forums?
Its simple. Had you played literally any other weapon on vet I would have picked you up. But if you are going to ruin my experience I will ruin yours. If you are amicable and don’t ruin mine I will straight play with you day after day. I practically have to beg people to leave my games cause its the only option FS gives us; Leave or ask someone to leave. People will respond with “Oh, stop telling people how to play” without understanding that when you load into a match that I have created, I have remade, I have had to remake 3+ times, attempting to get a lobby without the things I think ruin the game, and you load in with a build I don’t want to play with, you are enforcing your playstyle on me, not the other way around. “Go play private” to my knowledge you still need to be in a party to play private which is ascenine.
Serious question. Are you one of the very very finite amount of people that would have left the game if I asked you to leave when I saw you had plasma? Cause maybe, just maybe, if you didn’t rely on plasma one shotting everything I wouldn’tve had to clutch. Bit of a PSA:
Its alright that you suck at the game guys, we all did or still do. But bringing things that 1 shot the toughest enemies that possess the capacity to 1 shot you is actively hampering your growth as a player. It gives you a false sense of spacing and threat levels when you can just 1 shot everything at a range. Its alright when a crusher overhead humbles you and you altf4. Thats part of the experience. Just go again until you’re good enough to not use the op stuff
Womp womp, cry about it.
Seriously, though… you’re refusing to help your fellow teammate simply because they chose to use a weapon you dislike? Please touch some grass, dude.
It’s toxic meta jerks. They dont care for WH40K, they are all about being the wireframe zoom zoom 2 fast 2 furious, too cool for playing for fun, and bully anyone for any reason. I get removed from comments alot for calling out the bullies.
Crushers, Maulers, and Bulwaks are quite literally the easiest enemies in the game to dodge. Dodge dancing a sizeable mob of trash is harder.
An enemy doing high damage is not difficulty. What you’re describing is punishment. Crushers are a punishing enemy. They’re objectively easy.
What makes me sad is that when you have something that’s rolling good on a build in auric, and all the teammates are flying well meshed together through Maelstrom or Damnation, its fun! I am too worried for our survival to care about “stolen kills” or who is killing what, as long as we have eachothers backs, and when granted by the team if 3/4 of the team is downed that we tell our last teammate to run-- Run you karkin mad awesome teammate with Emperors prayers may you clutch us, for I’d do my best to do the same to help us survive, get that ![]()
lol. indeed, some should use the art of ignoring people more.
that’s why i have voip off, and only discord on. for the 1 person saying something useful on voip there were 10 morons yelling, munching, having loud music on etc.
as for plasma, some consider the uncharged shot too strong. zealot rushes, vet goes woomp woomp and zealot has no job.
