Is anyone else.... Disappointed with Skitarii?

As someone who LOVES admechs i was really excited for the skitarii release and every bit of info REALLY hyped me up but…

As soon as full talent tree and youtube reviews on the class appeared i was changed with disappointment. Most of its unique features and mechanics are either useless, dull or undertuned.

Like… Skitariis should have definetly had a radiation mechanic.
We got Arc instead. It sounded… OK? Yeah, on paper it sounded OK. But when i saw how it works in the realities of the game - i’d say it’s really underwhelming and dull.

Servoskull? Looks absolutely like trash. The only useful ones are seem to be medicae and hacking one.

Ammo restoration? Basically none. Ammo pool? Small as hell. Class seems to be absolutely melee focused. The top of class’ ranged capacities are… Revolver vet? Really? Doesn’t seem like there’s any build variety at all.

Being the melee sicarian ruststalker seems to be the only way to play it effectively, while the power fantasy of being ranger is absolutely unfullfilled.

Even somewhat normal looking talents and weapons seem to be squeezed out of any fun. Playtesters did a really bad job if this is what we are getting.

And getting slightly changed electrocute after seeing just cool and USEFUL mechanics as stimm lab and arby’s dog is… Just sad.

No, the class is a bit too strong at the moment. Chordclaw’s damage is off the charts, and the lack of a cooldown on the Recharge Capacitance talent needs to be kept in check. So seriously, stop begging for buffs.

Bruh, chord clad seems like literally the only useful ability.

Quit sabotaging the game if you hate it

I love this game, and balancing keeps the game environment healthy. They really should nerf Chordclaw’s damage or reduce its max ability charges or both.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Because of sad people like you want to kill the fun.

Skitarii really needs more juice to his servoskull and ranged options,

its the first dlc class that actually has interesting mechanics imo, besides the dog. seems to also be powercrept as hell but it is what it is

lower difficulties exist for players unable to play when things get nerfed.

i have some ideas for the other ones but im not spoiling myself watching too much gameplay, just checked a couple things i was curious about and will discover the class myself

i did see that the autoaim apparently is hampered by how the game has trash hit detection. like apparently the bullets still miss even with the autoaim ability. remains to be seen how impactful that actually is but that was the only real “disappointment” i had hearing about skitarii mechanics. the other is maybe that keystones dont seem THAT interesting but then again they rarely are on any class

oh and i did want different/more weapons, especially an electric goad but who doesnt

The class sucks because the faction is lame and has the most irritating fans out of the entire franchise. Which is certainly saying something.

Well… I if you check it up - you’ll see that pretty much the only two builds skit has is a pure melee build with chordclaw spam and “revolver veteran”-like hybrid build, where you go a high noon as McCree in overwatch.

Galvanic rifle while seems decent, has inadequatelly restricted ammo pool (Magazine size is 8 and 80 in the reserve). Arc-rifle while has somewhat OK ammo-pool clearly has the chaff-killing purpose and can barely hande elites(Crushers). And Phosphor blaster is a… handcannon revolver, duh.

I’d disagree on this really hard. Arbites keystones are really interesting and game changing… unlike anything we get on skitarii.

idk i just see “stackable buff” and my eyes glaze over and that’s all of the keystones in this game pretty much except maybe martyrdom (which is also just a stackable buff so jokes on me)

focus target is the one exception i can think of. and you’re right actually, execution order marking stuff also qualifies in my book

Untrue. Literally the best and most interesting faction of 40k.

This class is weaker than other 6 classes. It’s unique melee weapons can only deal even half damage of other classes’ highest damage weapons, with less cleave and rending.

On one hand - you’re right. On the other - Execution order maked you prioritize highlited enemies first, while ternimus warrant makes you swap your weapons for max efficiency…

And forcefull… Ugh. Forceful is boring, yeah. But it does the job.

that’s really not that meaningful of a statement because other classes highest damage weapons have infinite cleave and they do way too much damage to begin with

Other games exists for those you want to who wante to suck the fun out of this one

I’ll admit, I’m a bit disappointed we only get four forge worlds as a choice and that the backpack lens colours don’t change to match an eye.

Other than that it looks decent. Bit disappointed by the non-skitarii weapon choices (why can’t we have a DLC class that gets las weapons instead of autoguns again?), but I’m glad FS haven’t just made the new class even more obviously OP. The game needs a readjustment in that respect.

Arc looks like it has quite crazy damage potential but I’ll have to test the setup vs kill times myself.

We really don’t need another class that breaks the ammo mechanic, what’s the point of having ammo economy etc. if we just circumvent it entirely every time?

Stimm lab isn’t even that great in its current form. Yes, it’s cool having customisable stimms, but most of it is stat modifiers like damage, AS or CD buffs, nothing that crazy or interesting. It’s just strong, that’s it. I was really hoping stimms would be able to get some crazy effects or new mechanics (possibly coupled with bigger drawbacks) but I guess we’ll have to wait for if FS gives it a touch up.

Really? The clips I saw gave me the impression the psword is really, really strong, the dual blades too, and the shock maul looked about in line with the other shock mauls (though arc might bring it up well past them)

Some classes too need it, because ranged combat in this game given no ait whatsoever. If there are pure melee and hybrid builds then there should be ranged ones as well. Plus, really? There’s not so many classes that seem to be circumventing it. I miss release vet ammo regen.

Now imagine having something like this but with implants for your skitarii, rangring from flat stat buff to interesting mechanics.

Hi, sorry. Don’t mean to be combative: but most of this post is just wrong.

this is absolutely wrong. Arc builds are very obviously very strong. Full arc builds especially have a LOT of impact. The dumb mcree build is a meme nonsense build for aurics. Chordclaw stalker builds are extremely viable. There’s also the Alpha Primus build concept that is half support half melee and that is extremely viable too.

This is true. Very true. Galvanic rifle is a solid weapon but I genuinely think its off target of its intended design space. Too much revolver, not enough lucius lasgun in its DNA.
