Insane weekend cranked ups on difficulty

Is there something going on that I notice on the weekends where difficulties are even higher intensity despite no modifiers? This is happening. Buy my observation for the past year. And then there’s the new players that I join up with where they’re are failing as well as I’m clutching despite their deficit or proficiency in gameplay?

I have even been playing with highly proficient players that are going through the same predicament where they are proficient and yet tbey drop like flies at same rate as I end up despite being an Auric and Havoc level player?

The so called AI director on the weekend is literally going full ham destroy all players higher than Auric Damnation Maelstrom and Havoc

O k, for those that know the idea of being so good at this game that i’m just giving a grievance because there are those like us that are trying to play to match the expertise

Nothing changes ever on the “director”

It really has shown on some very different points. Because I play regularly, then on the weekend it goes on a higher point to destroy the team players

game feels the same for me, i’m in exclusively auric or havok as of late. the director has not changed and is not given extra points weekends, that much i know for certain

Weekends are always more difficult feeling in any game, PvP or PvE, as you get the people who only game on weekends and play more casually. Also just increased odds of otherwise solid players being drunk or high or what have you.

Every once in a while if I play a PvP game on a weekend and get the ultra potato teammates I’ll comment to a friend that I should know better than to play them on Friday/Saturday nights.

(For the record there’s nothing wrong with playing stuff more casually but that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy having those people on my team :upside_down_face: )

simply means you´re comfortable of the setting in general.
what it doesn´t provide is an immunity to fkkups and situations that spiral out of control, as they are meant to prevent the game from becoming stale.

i clear havoc 40s with a good team as an ogryn, i carry and clutch (did plenty of just yesterday) on auric damnation HISTG event and auric maelstrom.

if i watch my replays closely i always make out misplays of mine or (more often) of others, the former i can improve upon, the second i can calculate for better next time.

but all in all in the great picture, nothing sways far from a “medium” between smooth sailing rounds and lube-less rear-entries.

what did increase though are ill prepared people, had a mad clutch at dark communion solely due to the stubborness of 2 dudes not sticking to the most efficient route that was clearly paved and ignoring pings for better position and cover like the plague.
these kinda players pop up more due the weekends of course.

since playing darktide beta i havent drank a drop of alcohol for i need every ounce of reflexe there is.
bf 5 playing for k/d i did the odd beer to soothe the nerves, but without the pressure of statistics there´s no need for booze

heresy! i slay the enemies of the emprah like my life depended on it :muscle:

Weekends have more casual players in your games. These teammates can be an additional difficulty modifier that makes Darktide harder. But this has nothing to do with the AI director.

It’s like on the road. I feel like I’m more likely to die on the weekend than during the week.

Teamate RNG enters the chat

Maybe the real difficulty modifier was the people we met along the way.

I will say, despite the ‘teammate’ modifier being brought up and being entirely true, the director does tend to go haywire a lot of the time, and I wouldn’t be surprised if ‘server load’ due to weekend ‘peaks’ has something to do with it.

As I’m sure many have experienced ‘those games’, where the Director decided that a shock trooper gauntlet is A SHOCK TROOPER MALESTROM and you get 2-3 trappers every other second, 2-4 tox/scab bombers in the back of the map making it impossible to play, 3 scab flamers behind a horde of bulwarks and crushers that just ruin your day by constantly eating up the ground in front of you, etc etc.

I notice this tending to happen late late night on occasion, but also on the weekend a good bit more frequently as well. The ‘teammate’ modifier likely plays a factor too, but I’m gonna be real that modifier has been on since January and I’ve had it on basically permanently at any point I’ve played. I think I can count on one hand the number of games I’ve had the last week where there’s been a majority of seasoned players on the team verses at best a duo buddy to help carry with (or just me…all alone…), and yet, I’ve only really noticed the above issues a couple of times here and there even with all that being said.

But yeah, just figured I’d put these observations in here, to be at least a bit of ‘corroboration’.

You have a good point Hank, where fighting hard and had some players drop hard. I myself am not a casual, yet also not quite the top player, even wjth having Auric Storm Survivor under my belt lol.

An example of such was when I was clutching on Smelter to get two hogtied players, the other player that was still alive broke off from me and I went down. Due to that, instead of getting irate, I told the last player to just cut and run to the extraction point. Thankfully they successfully did.

In another mission it was clearly the moment a horde broke out where everyone went down as they seemed unprepared to manage the instantaneous onslaught.
