Okay let’s get down to business the director has gotten into the zealots’ crack and is out of control again and here are some options to rehab him.
Temporary solution and fatshark please, please listen. Do a biweekly reset on the servers this put the director back in his place for a little while and the missions then feel great again and not total madness.
Permanent solution(not a programer at all but dabbled a little in coding). Make it so whatever rule book the director makes is made for the current mission and then deleted, not what it does currently where it will carry that book and keep expanding it until it spaghettifies and just decides to do everything in the rule book ignoring conditions and difficulty.
I noticed the director got its hands on the stims again as well. I don’t like the huge range of random difficulty it can decide to throw at us. Hi-int should never be easier than a low-int modifier. I’ve had a couple of Hi-int where it’s just a lovely stroll through the park and some low-int where it’s almost nonstop action.
As in its blowing all its spawn credits on crack and that’s why there’s not enough spawns?
I mean it works for me right now anyways. I’ve been incredibly sleep deprived (hooray holiday season), but the game has been pretty easy lately.
I think it had a nice spike in challenge at start of patch 15 where you could get hordes of specials spawning, but its been massively tuned down since then.
I also wish to point out that our basic letter avatars spell out cat. So that’s neat.
It goes both ways, depends on the diff, maps, modifiers, and how RNGeesus feels that day.
Auric Maelstrom is there if STGs are getting boring. Both new maps are pretty good in STG if you like to get reamed by the director, alternatively you can stick to the classics and camp the queues for Torrent and Chasm Logi. Then there’s auric maelstrom monstrous specialist Hab Dreyko or carnival if you can’t get it up anymore with other maps with said modifier.
OP, make sure you’re not having latency issues. Check out the technical support threads on disconnects, and noregs for things you could try out to fix or alleviate the issues. You can also try playing the game in hours with lower traffic, that usually does it for me. On top of those also set your graphic settings to potato, as I’ve tried to fix my own issues I’ve found that having your settings at medium or high, even if your rig can take it, seem to somehow make the issues even worse.
Why go on about latency? Because from what I’ve noticed so far is that when your latency goes to sh@t ibesides the usual ghost input and noreg shenanigans, the game will feel like the director is just dropping the entire map on you and the team the entire run with little to no reprieve. At it’s worst on top of these you’ll feel like you’re 1 second behind the rest of the team, and they’re constantly outrunning and leaving you behind.
These are soft reset the resets I’m talking about are hard reset which default the director
What you are saying makes sense but is not the case as I have been playing since the public beta and this same issue keeps coming back as the director doesn’t like to work long period of time without reset which is confounded with load intensity as with low player counts the director will stay stable longer but with high player counts it burns out quickly.
Overall this does eventually hit everyone playing which causes the big player count drops which I have experience and even participated in many times
I dont use meta builds i use whatever is fun to me. Doing all these technical and dorky breakpoint calculations isnt fun, you can go through my comments and see that ive said this multiple times on here. You just made an assumption based on nothing
In my last games since this last hotfix AI director felt very chilled, maps felt pretty empty, this morning I even felt it waited for us to kill the Monster Before triggering the horde, in Hi Int STG…
I would welcome any difficulty that isn’t an endless stream of enemies with no breaks.
Granted, the Director huffing whatever it is they’re feeding it is not that, so I’m ok with some difficulty spikes, but it also means that the intensity modifiers are kind of meaningless.
It was interesting to see “myself” through someone else’s eyes.
There are a few occasions in the video where I see that I need to pay better and more conscious attention to what the team is doing.
In the section with the big hole in the wall, I didn’t have to get downed. I just played sloppily there.
If someone ever plays in the same squad with me, please give me feedback.
I kind of agree with you on this point.
IMO, Darktide is at its best when the breaks are long enough to make you feel “paranoid”, waiting for the next ambush.
When our beloved director constantly unleashes herectics, the game loses its creepy factor, and I prefer Darktide to have a horror factor instead of feeling like the more upbeat Deep Rock Galactic.
I want to make it clear that I absolutely adore Deep Rock Galactic, but I prefer my Warhammer to be “extra teenage edgy grimdank” as opposed to the more humorous Deep Rock Galactic.
I have been running into almost overlapping bosses on just normal damnation lately, i dont recall that being a thing that used to happen with such regularity before.
Had a double boss as well on a normal damnation run, while it was fun, i dont think i have seen that before either.
