Did someone give the Director meth or am I just unlucky

There haven’t been updates since I last played but Fatshark tends to do backend stuff that doesn’t require pushing updates to Steam, so I’m starting to wonder if someone made the Director angry again. When literally a dozen ragers appear at once on low intensity Damnation you have to question if something’s gotten broken serverside again.

Has anyone else had a harder time in Damnation recently? Doubled spawns outside of Hi-Int STG, constant hordes, boss packs, that sort of thing?

Have had some back to back boss triggers, like literally 10 seconds after the first one goes down the second one spawns in kind of stuff.

Have also had a few double boss spawns on just normal damnation which seems strange to me.

The elite spam seems to be kind of high, but i dont really mind it.

I thought last night was unusually hard for damnation. Actually lost a match. We had 4 or 5 bosses spawn in just one match lol

Played a match last night that genuinely felt like a hi-int shock gauntlet with the crap being thrown at the team… Was it? No. It was NORMAL Damnation, the Director was just unleashing mutie and burster trains every couple minutes, pairs of dogs and trappers and Gunner Gangs Galore.

The Director didn’t get what it wanted for Christmas, and now it’s mad :frowning:

Can confirm.

He literally now constantly overloads sound engine, I’ve seen crazy amount of silent trappers, silenty bursting bursters or crushers, softly stomping behind your back, bashing your head in silently with massive, well cushioned warhammer…

Yeah I sometimes have bouts where the director just spawns BIG groups of the same elites over and over again, even in auric where you expect them to spawn big groups of elites it gets really annoying when its the same elite over and over especially if it’s(shot)gunners

Hearing then seeing a gigantic rager ball in a low-intensity damnation match is quite the thing to behold, honestly. Especially when said ball is at least 20-strong and you’re the only one with any form of CC because the rest of the team are not group-oriented players…

Yeah the director seems a bit…off.

But if you look at the end scoreboard, and see how many specials were killed its all pretty consistent its just how the spawn director spends its credits.

Sometimes it does it in massive bursts which can give the impression that it’s worse than it actually is.

The difference between Auric, and Damnation is still pretty consistent overall in terms of raw numbers not so much with their distribution though.

There seems to be super close-distance spawning happening as well. As in 5 meters away from you, in the open, not from a door/hole.

I started using the stims for this because there are drugs lying on every street corner now. This is not the kind of liberation I thought the Moebians would be bringing.

I never had boss packs in Auric Damnation.
Shoot, I guess normal Damnation is harder now, gotta get going then

I thought this was always the case

this is good tho, no? you dont want to win 100% ur matches on the hardest difficulty do u. good stress or naw?

Depends on the person I’d say. Some only do Damnation for plasteel, and ordos.

Personally, I’m fine with whatever though Maelstroms are objectively underwhelming atm.

Did a pug specialist mael yesterday, and despite being in there for 40 minutes there were maybe only 200 specials.

I think it would be fine for one “gamemode” to have a guaranteed negative win rate.

it all comes back to the doodoobutter crafting system unfort.

if only the masses of darktide didnt move from room to room scavanging for any sign of plasteel to go brick the first good item they get their hands on in this flawed system. games take too long i think cause of this looting even tho we all know, its gonna jus be a waste most likely

Yeah… I think the most recent director update ramped up the scaling over time in all mission types.

So could be a combination of bad luck and increasingly bad luck

They’d just find another way to be slow. I’ve played a large variety of games, and whenever speed comes into the equation people are just going to go at whatever pace they think is right which is usually snail to cold molasses.

You can either get mad about it, or just enjoy the longer time in the missions. The alternative is L4D2 where all you do in the PvE mode is just speed run while killing as little as humanly possible which is its own kind of boring that I personally find worse.

As for the Plasteel hunting I think it’s fine. Adds more fail conditions albeit rather artificially. More times for the team to crack, and crumble if as they split up to pick up c̶a̶s̶i̶n̶o̶ ̶t̶o̶k̶e̶n̶s̶ resources to have another spin of the wheel.

Would I rather it be the old system of grims, and tomes? Hell yes, but this is also fine as long as it gets changed eventually.

For now I’d like the damn locks removed.

I don’t have a problem with losing, it just feels as though the difficulty can be wildly inconsistent day-to-day. It’s more surprising than anything else - one game, you’ve got a healthy amount of everything (except gunners, they seem to be in surplus lately), and the next game has a ton more Ragers on top of everything else.

Maybe it is a distribution thing, like @Tempest_yo said

Whatever Fatshark is feeding the director, it has made me avoid Shock Troop / High Intensity missions. Absolutely busted.
