by just mostly tinkering number around, oh forgot to mention its server wide mission its not personal mission like you do on Melk

i like it but its something complex

Hm I afraid I’m not that good at programming to tell you that this is complex or not. If you’re familiar with Paradox games, you’ll recognize that the example I made consists of a series of modifiers. (shifting number around) Implementing a system like this wouldn’t be overly difficult for them.

The things that seems maybe complex are probably a lot of permanently stats that get piling up after many events have passed for a while. which I think it can easily be fixed by introducing counter events that will diminish the stats the server currently have.

but well lets not worry about that. We already have this system implemented in this timeline you know xD

Who hurt you?

That “boss” should be removed from the game, so we can pretend it never existed. Just like Disney removed the Willow remake from Disney+.

BoN is the worst “boss” in the game, if we are not counting the Demonhost, which wins literally because Fatshark put time and money to develop game content which is not supposed ot be interacted with by players.

The Daemonhost isn’t supposed to be a boss really, it’s essentially an environmental obstacle to be worked around, or like a landmine. Something that can, on its own, be easily avoided but that a stray shot in an intense combat or single act of stupidity can trigger to spike the stress levels. It’s the Witch from Left4Dead copied point for point.

They have previously done an event with the Skull update, which had different segments (total kills, total missions, monster kills)

But didn’t give aquilla, but new cosmetics (tattoo, and an helmet)

Yes I’m aware. A total waste of time and dev resources which could have been spent on adding a more interesting boss to the game. You know one with interesting mechanics and attacks, one you can interact with.

I quite like the Witch and the DH, would be glad to see it gain some additional abilities though, like a Psychic Shriek or something

For me, all bosses are fine. I mean they are boring being alone but the real challenges are when they are mixed with all the chaos in the game.

I’m not done with Beast of Nurgle yet xD

“Rejects, as we’re all aware, in the last moon cycle, we lost to the Beast of Nurgle breakout, and its infestation continues to spread throughout Tertium Hive. Some of them seems to have some sort of mutation. This is our final opportunity to put an end to it once and for all.”

Effects:

  • 50% of Beasts of Nurgle will have (Weakened) stats.
  • 5% chance to spawn Beasts of Nurgle with (Strengthen) stats, its overall stats is buffed by 80%
  • Reward 800 Plasteels per 1 Beasts of Nurgle (Strengthen) killed
  • Reward 200 Plasteels per 1 Beasts of Nurgle (Normal) killed
  • Reward 50 Plasteels per 1 Beasts of Nurgle (Weakened) killed

  • 7 Days

Conditions:

  • Find and Kill 20,000 of Beasts of Nurgle (Strengthen)

Winning Benefits:

  • 200 Aquilas to all players participating
  • Effect of Beasts of Nurgle increased spawn will be lifted
  • Effect of decreased resistance to corruption will be lifted
  • For 7 days, All players receive +20% resistance to corruption
  • For 30 days, -80% chance for Beasts of Nurgle to spawn in every maps

  • Permanently, +5% chance for Beasts of Nurgle(Strengthen) to spawn in every maps
  • Permanently, +10% chance for Beasts of Nurgle(Weakened) to spawn in every maps
  • Permanently, All players receive -10% resistance to corruption

Yes it’s actively horrible. Encourages the player the player to not melee it. Is very tanky. It’s weakpoint is on its back, but it’s slime trail punishes you for going for it. It has no attack combos to learn or interact with. If it spawns in a tight space the team is forced to backtrack to an open area to fight it.

All of that before it’s stupid grab attack, that not only again discourages melee but grabs players through walls, is harder to counter since class update (a vet or Ogryn might not bring the “right” abilities), can’t be canceled out by distance like the Chaos Spawn, and can drag you over Demonhosts etc.

So yes I think the game would just be better if the Beast was just removed as well.

“pus puppy is terrible, there’s no way to melee it effectively it’s ruining the game!”

as a vet player, thank you for always choosing to play the bait for me. it makes the fight go a lot quicker when i can just hose that thing from behind because it’s busy chasing you.

It’s still a bad boss. Doesn’t change anything I said.

The absolute counter for the grab is that it can only target you for it if you have at least one stack of “slimed”.

Don’t step in his trail and dodge the vomit and you’re set.

They also heavily prioritize whomever has the most “slime” stacks for chasing. If someone gets full vomited-on, you can run in and melee his pustule from the side quite safely -just gotta dance his wriggles- as he pursues the the hapless slimed one.

omg they just dropped a patch and giving us opportunity for that

“Rejects, following our recent victorious battle with the Beast of Nurgle, we might finally have the chance to bring them under control and eliminate them at this rate. Find and kill all Beast of Nurgle on sight.”

Effects:

  • none

Duration:

  • 77 Days

Conditions:

  • Kill 777,777 Beast of Nurgle

Winning Benefits:

  • -100% chance for Beast of Nurgle to spawn

Losing Penalty:

  • Add new Hadron dialogues and will constantly saying “You dissapointed me, Varets”

I remember back in the day when it was 3 stacks of slimed…

Also I know how to fight it. I just don’t find “kite the boss around so everyone can shoot it in the back” to be an interesting or fun boss concept in the slightest.

With the Chaos Spawn or Plague Ogryn, the player kiting not only has to put a bit more effort into it, but they have a more engaging fight as they can dodge and get a few hits in. Additionally ranged characters are still just as useful, but now melee characters have to protect them or they have to protect themselves.

However, sorry for deviating so far from the thread topic. I actually really enjoy the concept you put forth, of weekly modifers that come with a challenge, and have a tangible effect.

I also think it’s one of the better ideas for free Aquilla acquisition. More fun and engaging than just do challenges for a drip feed of them, but can still encourage continuous play to feel like you are contributing or working towards the reward.

I think lots of Maelstrom modifiers could be applied to this, but just make it not throughout the entire mission or with much lower effects.

Scab/Dreg prescense: would increase the chance of that type of enemy spawning over the other drastically.

Gas Vents: A couple arenas in the map (not a lot, but a couple) would have the gas vents present

Melee elites: More melee elites spawn in (not like the Maelstrom where it is only them, but there is a higher precentage of them and ammo still is present)

Monstrous Specialists: just have it be a lot lower chance than the actual maelstrom modifer

Enemy Champions: bring back the twin ambushes with randomized names, Fatshark why did you throw them away

Ammo shortage, more barrels, more blitzes: self explanatory. Just make sure the Ammo shortage event still spawns a decent amount of ammo, just a bit less. Might be best not to include it as the Survivalist nerf is still feeling a bit raw.

Yes we already have a lot of conditions for this system to work in many possibilities of ways
The Idea of Scab/Dreg prescense is so interesting indeed

We can have Catfish as an GM. only she can move these faction around each week or through event

MISSION TERMINAL

[The Carnival]

  • 100% Scab Faction
  • 0% Dreg Faction

[Chasm Terminus]

  • 25% Scab Faction
  • 75% Dreg Faction

[Metalfab 36]

  • 75% Scab Faction
  • 25% Dreg Faction

[The Torrent]

  • 60% Scab Faction
  • 40% Dreg Faction

[Throneside]

  • 100% Scab Faction
  • 0% Dreg Faction

[The Hourglass]

  • 0% Scab Faction
  • 100% Dreg Faction

[Global Effect] *(will be affecting all the maps)

  • -100% chance spawning Beast of Nurgle

another thing is I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to apply these effects to Auric Maelstrom missions
I think it would be better to keep Auric Maelstrom away from all of this system and keep it as is. We could treat them like they are special ops mission that is outside of norm. like for example even if we have " -100% chance spawning Beast of Nurgle " actived, they can still spawn in Maelstrom

This is something I was going to say and agree with.

However they should still contribute to the active event. Even if the modifiers don’t effevt it, if the mission is kill X billion Scab enemies, than scab enemies killed in Maelsteoms should still go to it.

Except Twin ambushes. Those need to be brought back everywhere.

Agreed

Man I miss Twin ambushes too, it was something so refreshing

Losing Penalty:

  • For 15 days, Assasination mission will spawn 2 Scab Captains

  • Permanently, 15% chance for Scab Captain to spawn on every maps

for this to be fun the scab captains need some reworking first obviously
