I’m having fun playing it because it reminds me of the Grunt birthday party.
However, there’s one thing that’s too hard to me.
There are too many unweakened Monstrosities.
Mutated enemies are bad as they die from a single headshot practically nullifying elites (as well as a scab captain), so the modifier encourages to use ranged weapons instead of meleeing them in contradiction to the initial idea. Beasts of Nurgle spawns are not a bug but a part of the modifier, unweakened monstrosities are cool though BoN is the worst boss in the game and it’s not interesting to fight with it.
All the tentacles are really fun. But 7-10 BONs per mission is boring AF as they take ages to kill.
Also the amount of bursters that constantly appear in packs and seemingly out of nowhere is pretty annoying. Keep getting that push bug where I can’t push at all or it pushes them about 1 inch away so constantly getting blasted by them.
Lastly, I have died when downed before using all or any of my wounds on a few occasions…if this is deliberate and part of the event then it’s lame as hell.
I like the increased regular spawn density in high shock, but the lack of elites and specials is meh.
And having a shitton of beasts of nurgle is boring as fcck, all you do is kite and slowly whittle them down as you progress, or downright ignore them. By far the worst boss in the game.
I like the tentacle look on the enemies, but that’s about all I have to say for the event.
Having so many beasts of nurgle appearing was just annoying and tedious, so if I bother doing any missions with the modifier, it’ll be on builds specifically to destroy BoN asap.
Getting a little tired of these FOMO events coming, and then disappearing forever though. The event with the mobians were neat, because it made hordes actually more threatening, but now it’s gone forever.
I just played a regular damnation mission and other than seeing some enemies with tentacles on their heads, uh it played the same? Like I didn’t notice any additional impact of these explodable enemies at all?
Did another event mission, and maybe it’s because my team was very reliable - but I was bored numb during it. Only modifier that make me this bored is low intensity - which is honestly what this mode feels like. Only difference is the frequency of a big snail appearing.
I cannot think of a single class where I’d manage to feel like I have fun during this event, but maybe that’s more a “game director” problem than anything else.
On that note, it feels like the game director only knows like two modes. Snooze and “DIAL IT UP TO 11”. and that mode selection doesn’t reflect at all on how the players are performing.
Had so many missions where there’s “nothing” to shoot, and we’re drowning in ammo drops - or nobody has the grenade available and never seen so many grenade drops before.
Not to mention how many missions have an absolutely lacking climatic end.
i just played another one too on auric and i just don’t understand what’s different instead of the tentacles on some of them - is it supposed to damage players when they blow up? we just cut through them like butter
Considering I took 150 damage by standing next to an enemy that exploded, I think yes. This event is going to have to be played with quad zealot in order to have any semblance of fun without getting killed by your idiot teammates.
Boring… especially with a melee class
The total lack of balance of this game is even more obvious in this mod. I will do them, just for the frame. But I am not enjoying this mod.
If these enemies with tentacles never come back, I would not miss them
