Because if you want to faceroll things with no thought or effort, you can play Recruit or Vet. It’s not that Ironbreaker or Beam Pyro “work”, it’s that they can trivialise quite a few situations, even on difficulties that are meant to be, well, difficult.
You don’t buff 10+ classes to match Pyro/Iron Breaker/Bounty Hunter/Waystalker/[insert current meta class of complaining here], you give a bit of a nudge down to the top classes, a bit of a leg up to the bottom classes and see how thing go for a bit.
If you buff everyone to be on the same level as Beam Pyro then you’d have to adjust the entire game to make Champ/Leg more than a walking simulator.
Let me see if I’ve got this straight. Basically “Nerf the dwarf drake guns because he got more green circles than me at the stat screen”
Get over it, killing trash isn’t as challenging as being the guy who picks off elites or specials before they are a problem or even noticed by the team. Green circles don’t mean much.
Legend is difficult enough for the vast majority of players that a nerf is not needed. Ironbreaker needs to be as strong as he is. If not? Well, I’m the guy who has to go in and tank that bloody patrol people attracted. If I have the same defences as everyone else, I’ll die immediately, and the group will wipe.
Wanna nerf the damage? Oh please! Drakegun has enough drawbacks already that using it in an average PuG is a terrible idea. The drakefire pistols are more usable, yes, but they don’t do as much damage as you think… The alt fire will one shot slaves and thats it. The alt fire takes 2 or 3 for everything else. The shots themselves will take between 2 to 6 depending on the enemy type you fire at, and considering how slow they shoot, that is plenty. You won’t see me go around killing bosses with those things, no sir you will not.
If it was up to some people around here I’d be forced to use a 12 shot ammo based weapon and would not have any ability to control crowds. Ya’ll need to play more Legend before you call for nerfs.
I play on legend all the time, i beat all maps inc skittergate and i can clear whole horde as IB right now without problems. If you need to this broken state of game to play “above veteran” - GIT GUD, lol. Cuz right now even legendary deeds with pyro-bh-stalker-IB feels like some sort of FPS for casuals. With infinite ammo and stuff. This game MUST be difficult, at least on legendary.
If all classes will be like IB and pyro - this game will be dead for 90% of players, cuz it will let no room for challenge for any player with at least grain of skill.
So this is why all this ranger classes with unlimited ammo MUST be nerfed.
Congratulations, you are part of the 0,66 % of the entire playerbase who managed to beat skittergate on legendary!
Since you find it too easy ironbreaker and the ranged classes must be nerfed even further!
Fatshark definitely needs to balance legendary difficulty according to your views!
Yes. Fatshark need to balance legendary according my (and players like me) views, not according to guys who cant beat legendary on regular basis. Simply cuz we have enouth experience. Seems legit yes? And legendary must be challenging. Beating legendary deed must be true testament of you skill. But right now its more like -“Hey guys lets pick IB+Pyro+BH+Stalker and steamroll this petty legendary 2 emperor chest deed, i will drink tea and listen music in process!” Right now every of this classes can literally kill everything, from ambients to bosses with only ranged weapon. Even this extrem tanky irobreaker. This is most absurd thing ever - “imma imperishable tank” guy cant deal tons of damage in balanced and fair game. But right now V2 far from both balance and fairness.
Fatshark need to cut all source of unlimited ammo. Even from wizard and especially from IB. Overheat must be a thing. Not just -“oh i got 100% overheat so i just press R for 1-2 sec and keep rekt this horde\boss from afar”.
And they need to buff\rework useless classes such as WH or battle wizard. But this is discussion for another topic.
I do consistently beat Legend, and I have completed all maps on Legend. I still say you are talking nonsense. The game is extremely difficult for the vast majority of people. There will always be people like you who will never be satisfied, and for you there will be mods, true solo, and some absurdly hard deeds.
You see the thing is vent is the limitation. So in the first game it was a well established binary causality. If you either have vent or finite ammo, but here you have what used to be pure ammo based characters with easy outs like the infinite ammo for WH pistol & Kerillians ult. etc
However, easy access to temporary health makes the cost of venting negligible, which is a major difference to VT1, where while you had access to permanent health recovery with weapon traits, it was slow.
beam staff with regrowth disagrees. I could go from low to full during an ogre. and that’s just it, it may have been slower but it was green health, which doesn’t decay over time like the white does. also… the temp hp isn’t even what makes venting so easy… Natural Bond is. Natural bond before level 20 makes venting no problem at all.
Fair enough - but temporary health is extremely cheap to sacrifice for venting - it’s going to be gone soon anyhow, so there’s little incentive for not spending it, and a fresh cool staff is good for regaining that temporary health fast.
Pffft, that is a really lame counter point that is pretty much apples and oranges. Regrowth NEVER had the same strength to heal even with beam staff as does the current system with all the modifiers. I mean, you don’t even need to do the math to deduce that one…
think you meant regrowth there. and while yes, it wasn’t as strong as a high level character, the two games are also fundamentally different. it shares a name and style, but they changed a lot under the hood. There’s also a lot more special enemies that spawn a lot more regularly, and sometimes even all of 2 feet away from people, bosses that can pretty much instantly disable with a grab that may take a majority of your health if your team isn’t able to interrupt it, and so on. The fact is that sienna and bardin used the same types of weapons in the same way in the previous game, it was just mildly more difficult to use well because talents and hero power weren’t a thing… also keeping in mind that elf and pyro had weapons that could track and be used pretty much whenever, which were removed and turned into ults for a couple careers instead. what is lame as that everyone seems to have different views on what they think the game should be instead of what the developers think it should be and are constantly at eachother’s throats over it. if drakefire and staffs having “infinite ammo” because they don’t run on arrows or bullets was such a huge issue, they not only wouldn’t still be in vermintide 1, they wouldn’t have made it to vermintide 2 either. It was a deliberate design choice for a couple characters.
