So I’ve taken a look at the icons in Darktide and I’d like some sort of addition and/or changes to them.
My main issue was from playing with a team that didn’t pick up an Ammo Crate when I pinged it, and then did not resupply when I placed it on the ground as not to waste it. I was carrying a Scripture at the time so I didn’t want to drop that.
So my idea was to make it more obvious that the Ammo Pack was on the ground, differentiating it from the box you can pick up.
While looking at all the icons I could find I saw that there were both frames and icons that you changed in order to show what was what.
That made me think about consistency, as just introducing something isn’t always a good thing.
The idea so far is to make changes to a number of pick ups.
Small ammo pick up
“Medium” ammo pick up (the bags).
Ammo Crate, placed Ammo Crate
*Medical Crate, placed Medical Crate
Good ideas. Grims need to be adjusted honestly. The whole team being punished because one player (who may not even know what it is he’s actually picking up half the time it seems) decided to pick up a Grim is silly.
Punish only that player with corruption, but give the player a boon for carrying the thing since the Ordo reward doesn’t justify the cost of carrying it IMO.
Interesting take. Never thought about that. Usually I just assume people join the book-missions when you have those Melk contracts.
I could be down for some change there, although I think it is still motivated by you getting the extra mission money, so not sure what they would do.
Yeah, I usually try to do that anyway since I have the penance for placing them completed. But they were running off so it would have been a hassle to get back.
I get on the mic as well at times because writing on xbox is painfully slow, still there are times when people likely don’t hear you or are not speaking the same language. Having some icons could possibly help with that.
