Try the weekly with Act On Instinct modifier, it’s the current one.
Can’t get more immersive than that, and no healthbars.

Dark Souls and Monster Hunter are very alike when it comes to boss battle, yet one has health bar and the other doesn’t. Both games are fun, and having, or not having the health bar around doesn’t affect their gameplays so much. This is pretty much my point; it isn’t as significant. Since it isn’t, game developers aren’t gonna make changes that could possible upset lots of players, because, again, it isn’t as significant to risk it.
If Fatshark implements this, it should be optional. Each player should be able to configure this setting according to their preference.
Yes, I don’t know, I can only hope a handful of internet forum warriors doesn’t represent the broader player base. I truly hope the broader player base are more like the people i usually find to play with, more relaxed and just having fun.
Browsing around here it seems like many are very frustrated and focused on understand and knowing details about the game that for me is unnecessary to know in order to enjoy it: So much passion for percentages, break points, health bars (take them away!), etc etc …
Just start the game and immerse yourselves in the best melee first person game in the world (and pray to Sigmar for a patch that fulfill my wish!).
You do realise that this argument is reversible, don’t you? Here it goes: I truly hope the majority of the real player base are just enjoying the game instead of focusing on some kind of a boss health bar and then going on the forums and campaigning for it to be removed from existence for everyone. Seeing your thread I perceive that you’re frustrated by the health bar for some reason and it is a thorn in your side. So just launch VT2 and don’t look at the health bar and just enjoy the best melee FPS out there.
You are right, but you will not win a nobel price for pointing out my post was somewhat hypocritical, I had hopes it was self explanatory in that regard.
Now you’re just being an arse. Disagreeing about whether the game would be better with or without health bars is one thing (and it comes down to personal preference mostly). Making posts calling everybody disagreeing with you “forum warriors” who are enjoying the game the wrong way and calling people argumentative children when they point out your hypocritical crap is something else, though.
Sorry, you are right. I truly have no idea how old you guys are and it doesn’t matter. I do like you, otherwise I wouldn’t have stayed so long.
The passion for Vermintide is strong, it’s like when you have watched a great movie and the need to tell others how much they should watch it.
Take care and let there be no health bars!
This is a non-argument as most bosses are snuffed out in under 40 seconds. The only one that lasts is a troll and that’s only because he has so many times when he’s invulnerable. I don’t even get to see most hp bars for bosses as they’re down so fast.
Boss killer ults gonna ult.
Yeah, but only with the right group compositions. Without a monster killer class monsters can be an absolute slog. Most frustrating is when you get confronted with a difficult situation of monster + hordes and elites, you finally “solve” it by killing everything but the monster by good tactical play, but then can’t kill the monster fast enough before more crap spawns again because it’s a stupid damage sponge and you eventually get overwhelmed. And it’s almost as lame when the monster gets deleted in a few seconds because the party happened to have 3 ults and potions ready.
Monsters should have a lot less hitpoints overall, but also protection against super powerful ults. That way they die faster, but the situation of monster + hordes / elites / specials is just as dangerous, at least for a while. It’ll still take skill to solve that situation, but it’ll be less of a frustrating slog afterwards. And it’ll make it possible to spawn more monsters per map as well. That way there are more “complicated” situations, but less slogging and less cheesing with ults. That feels like the right type of difficulty imcrease to me.
(Comment is mostly about Cata.)
I think this thread is kinda off the rails. Should this be a separate topic about monster TTK?
