In Vermintide 2, after finishing game you end up in lobby with same team you completed map and it was greate feature, because then someone could always ask “we play next one?” and that’s how i was playing more than normally because when i had cool team i always wanted to play more maps with them and that’s how i meet most of my friends.
But in Darktide its basicly not possible, its like game don’t want you to meet friends but to play with random people everytime.
I know there is discord, but its totally different than finding team in quickplay with good vibe.
Its like i feel game suppose to be designed that you find friends just by playing it, not by searching on discord.
There’s a form group option at the end, but you have to opt in, rather than opt out, of partying up. Most people cba I assume as the status quo until this point was a disband, and we’ve gotten used to it.
We have a ‘form group vote feature’ now after the matches.
Personally, I like to play with a new group every match, but that’s just me.
The feature is there , but it might not be super obvious.
The issue is the HUB IMO. It’s another hollow system designed to focus on time wasting and in-game purchases.
IF the HUB we had was engaging and didn’t feel like a chore to run to the middle it would be a lot more of a social hub. Maybe even have zones to split up chat, links in chat to form groups, a trading zone (LOL), a bar to place to hang/discuss lore. Maybe even a customizable option to spawn in different areas after matches. An area for stats, a group zone to test and discuss builds, etc, etc. Stuff we will never see.
In summary, I think disbanding is fine… the try-hards have left the game so it isn’t really toxic anymore, its just people having fun and funny Ogryn players. My only recommendation is to maybe chat/talk more during the game to see if players want to play another. For me, I only have the energy to play 1 map, since there isn’t endgame.
That it’s opt in at all is pretty anti-social design. Most people wouldn’t see it or do anything if it wasn’t default.
