A simple way to make the party finder useful

We are all aware (or are not aware at all, which only underlines the issue) that the party finder doesn’t play almost any role in Darktide, aside from Havoc runs. It’s almost non-existent. I think that the next update can make it more useful by making a simple addition to the game.

After each mission, the team of players doesn’t automatically disband but stays together. It’s more healthy for the game and for the players, who can then go with the same team if they liked the team dynamic.

It also could make queuing for any mission a lot better in my opinion since teams of 2 or 3 rejects could instantly fill missions, where not everyone joined at first and were replaced by bots. Furthermore, it can also go the other way around where instead of waiting for the game, a player could just join an already existing party if it’s aboard the Mourning Star. And since it would automatically would keep players together, finding a team to play with wouldn’t be an issue.

This small change could really help bring the playerbase a lot closer together. And from my knowledge, this isn’t really a super hard change in the code to implement so it just seems like an easy QOL addition for the Fall update.

idk about this half the fun for me is dealing with new people in new situations i can actually count on one hand the times where i made a strike team after a game, and almost all of them were after an “unfair” team wipe in a maelstrom where we felt it wasnt fair.

That could be interesting if the game has large enough of a playerbase to not pair two of the same classes together in PUGs.

Have the ability to retry the mission regardless if it’s on the board or not would be nice too.

Press E at the mission end screen. This is already in the game.

This is how it worked in Vermintide 2. It was good. If you didn’t like your team, you could leave, otherwise you ended up doing a few runs with the same folks. Connected to a lot of people that way and ended up building a good list of folks to play V2 with.

In Darktide, I don’t even get a notification of a friend invite. One day, opened it up and found 19 pending invitations I had no clue about. It’s pretty wild how big of a miss this is all is.

I literally had that exact thing happen today. UX is not their strong suit. We know that. They know that. They still refuse to hire someone to do it.
