I finally got to play “Parting The Waves” and it was AWESOME! It very truly felt like a “tide” was spilling towards you at all times, doubly so during the whale oil sections. It was incredible! This also made me think about a lot of your post-release maps and how much more hordes of enemies spawns and how much more frequently they come.
Then I revisit your base game levels and the difference is insane. For example, the final event in Righteous Stand where you’re supposed to be drawing the attention of the entire pactsworn? Well that final event barely even had a street’s worth of enemies in Parting the Waves or Trail of Treachery. Into The Nest where you’re storming a SKAVEN NEST to kill Fester’s Warlord? The enemy load was anemic when that particular area should have been pouring clan rats, slaves, and stormvermin at you non-stop! And you have us walk through the rat ogre pens and that was a perfect moment you could have spawned a guaranteed Rat Ogre in that area to spice things up! That mission should be Skaven central with guaranteed Rat Ogre and Patrol spawns.
Fort Bracksenbrucke was in the middle of a Skaven Siege…that event should also be overwhelming slower teams with WAY more clan rats and plague monks!
So my suggestion/request…
-
Revisit the older missions (especially Into The Nest) and increase the load and frequency of hordes coming in. Possibly add in a few scripted spawns where they work, like Rat Ogre at Rat Ogre pens. A random monster during Fort Bracksenbrucke, etc.
-
Implement Optional Mission Modifiers under “Custom Games” tab where players can move a slider to adjust how large and how frequent enemy hordes should be. Like take the Deeds, and let us have the conditions and effects of those Deeds like “extra hordes” as custom settings we can activate at any difficulty whenever we want.
-
Maybe make Skarrik and Bodvarr a little tougher? Both are easier to beat than basic monsters.
