They have ruined me. if i try and play any other class using any other weapon i just find myself wishing i had my hands full of my favourite tool.
and its all 3 variants, they have all been my fave , there’s just such depth big strengths with big weakness’s i feel like i am making decisions there is a right and a very wrong thing to do most times , that low cleave on light is just as important to them working as any of their strengths.
please more like this , chefs kiss , bravo , encore!
p.s the Branx , the special> into heavy follow up is that borked? special into light is fine, but if you hold it down and go into heavy variant it just looks wrong .
Weapons like Bull Cleavers and clubs to a lesser extent feel kinda bad in the current state of the game (not to mention Power Maul… it’s still awful). Never really used Slab Shield personally, it’s just not for me. I like Club MK1 though. It’s good with Haymaker and Thrust, even if it’s inferior to shovels and pickaxes.
I hope devs will release some more weapon and blessing buffs as soon as they return.
I’ve been so busy (and so out of money & plasteel ) with the other classes & weapons since the update that I only got to try the oggy a few days ago. At a glance and with a brief visit to the psykhanium it seemed like the Branx is just way better than the other two tho, or did I miss something?
They’re all really slow, but Branx at least does insane dmg. It also has that crazy good moveset where either push-attacks or special get you to the cleaving heavy 2, and then you can keep going with light/push-attack/special > heavy to keep cleaving. Meanwhile the heavy 1 just wrecks everything. It’s so insanely strong there’s no point even going into heavy hitter, so it loves a ton of room for your builds. Feel No Pain is great for melee builds ofc. but what I liked even more was that Branx makes it easy to make ranged builds while barely giving up melee power besides the ult.
Anyway, you guys got any tips on the pickaxes? Particularly reasons for not using Branx? And what about blessings? I haven’t unlocked most yet but the Branx I’m rolling with has Slaughterer & Headtaker and I’ve seen no reason to switch from there yet.
The Branx is really strong but the Pull special the others have is easily the best move of the quick staggers. Like on Bulwarks, if you set your height high enough or jump at them you can hit them with the pull right on the top of their fat head when the shield is still in the way. It always gives you a strikedown which if you are running heavy hitter (why wouldn’t you) will ruin whatever you hit. Both other picks also open on a light attack that hits 6 targets for damage, which is the highest horde DPS of this weapon category if you cancel the move and repeat. It can be canceled before the move finishes, kinda like the Bull Butcher 3 from the closed beta.
But Branx push attack is so powerful, along with the heavy 1, that it makes up for not having those moves at all.
^ The follow-up light 3rd swing is also a strikedown so you can hook->heavy->light which I like.
The follow-up Vanguard heavy on Karsolas (no talents) after Light 1 hits a whopping ~15 poxwalkers though when HeadTaker procs x5 off L1 (or H1H2).
With talents on and Headtaker+Slaughterer, ~20-21 damaging hits on heavy after other hits in combo w/ blessing stacks.
P.S. It’s odd but L1 often hits 5 but not 6 (unbuffed) ? You have to be a bit closer for consistently hitting 6th.
