I hope FS goes under at this point

i’m mortified that no one’s commented on my chicken mcnugget lawsuit post so we’re talking coffee until this thread dies.

Fair, Fatshark’s shortcomings is something most people agree on and aren’t as bad as people getting hurt which is something I get more heated over.

This is the Failshark way. No fun allowed.

Comparing Mcdonald Coffee to FS is really rubbish.

One was endangering people just to save a few cents on each coffee machine and the other is just a messy release who doesn’t hurt anyone.

If anyone is hurt they need help

Yeah, that got out of hand quick… I do feel there’s a metaphor here, if we are to bring the runaway topic back to the fold:

Imagine the office coffee at FS HQ! I’d assume there’s one coffee machine per floor and no Franchise Coffee shop anywhere nearby. Yes, employees do get a fancy something-chino now and then on their way to work, but most of the time, you gotta grab one at the office too… And then, it begins:

What’s labeled as coffee is actually tea. More experienced employees know which button the coffee actually is, but then it takes the machine 10 minutes to churn out a single cup, and that’s the good machine on the 2nd floor. So, the employees try to stagger their coffees, but that often collides with impending tasks and creates a brutal waiting line that can take hours…

Another issue is that while the coffee is really good, the capsules get delivered to the machines maybe once a month and there’s not enough for all machines, which creates further chaos and complaining, but hey - what can you do?

Finally, after all this, the machines don’t make the same temperature drink - while one is cold, the other one makes it so hot it’s almost a safety hazard (hue hue)…

It’s a mess. The coffee at FS HQ is a complete mess and needs to be addressed, otherwise it will continue to turn otherwise productive and motivated workers into complaining drones… Even though they’ll keep spending their time working away, they won’t be happy and will abandon these circumstances the first chance (or distraction) they get…

Ok, so I assume no other game Dev. make games like the Tides at the moment, there are some that are similar, but not close enough.

Darktide was advertised as a Tide game, we don’t have, lets say, and Rts here, so no idea what you mean per that.

Fair

Not sure what the analogy is supposed to be, but if it’s 2nd floor=VT2, its rubbish analogy, as for colliding tasks, and miss managements, fair

Both game have content, they need more (In this analogy, meaning that there should be more choices, and even seasonal brews) but it’s not like after a while nobody can play any more or something.

What specific is this alluding to ?

An elderly woman likely should be protected. Or should we stop putting rails on stairs and point and laugh at everyone who loses their footing or can’t physically use stairs.

Because it was meant to be on the go. That doesn’t mean “Drink it while driving” mind you. It means getting to your destination and still having a hot coffee to enjoy.

The article was obviously fake. The image description said that the mother/daughter plaintiff was listening to the court proceedings but the daughter is obviously more focused on her oversized smartphone. Fake. News.

OnT(?): I’m divided on the coffee issue as far as generalizations go, but in this particular instance (stupidity aside) → I brew my coffe at home using boiling water. Shortly after the water has passed through the filter and the brown powder, it’s surely too hot to drink, but if I poured it over myself I wouldn’t get 3rd degree burns. I would get 1st degree burns at worst AND I would smell nice.

Or, have a seat outside and enjoy your coffee a minute after purchasing it. Don’t tell me how to enjoy my takeaway (not that McCoffee is enjoyable).

@Heretical_Cactus - just so we’re on the same page here… You are aware I was using sarcasm and the sign was there just to show there will always be one “That Guy”?
If not:

@freqlectic - well, I kinda buy 3rd degree burns. Remember we are talking about 79 years old. Lower fat contents, lower muscle contents and lower water % in the body. Old people do not get burned like youngsters do - it takes much longer to heal, so I understand why skin grafts were necessary.
But on the other hand someone who’s been around in the 30ties should know how to approach fire, boiling water or HOT COFFEE. If she was senile I blame the nephew.

I still remember how easily my grandmother bruised during her last couple of years. We grandkids were afraid of even toughing her arm ever so gently (blood vessels, but to the point of old age being harsh).

That’s why I’m split. Yes, common sense should always be a thing, and before this thread I though the coffee incident was indeed just another episode of “In the US of A we sue”. On the other hand, if it’s based on being reasonable, I don’t think one should expect boiling hot coffee just as one shouldn’t expect boiling hot tap water. 1st degree burns are definitely acceptable, but if you received 3rd degree burns by turning the tap on max heat, then something’s definitely wrong as well.

I really don’t know the specifics of this case, the age may play a major factor and the circumstances and result is probably why she decided to sue (as pointed out, medical costs) and won . I don’t think any lucky construction worker ever managed to sue their employing company for almost getting hit with a brick, but I’m sure the families of a few unlucky ones have indeed sued for their loved ones being hit by bricks.

@FatsharkCatfish, @Fatshark_Hedge What’s Fatshark’s stance on the coffee lawsuit?
