I am earning my CTD penance with flying colours

Before the hestia update and I don’t think I got more than 2 CTD ever. After the update I seem to get at least 1-3 each gaming session.

Just curious if others are having the same experience?

It would be less annoying if simply booting the game back up didn’t take over 5 minutes each time.

So I am alone with constant CTD? Seriously?

The game was so much more reliable before Hestia. I have latest gfx drivers so I’m not sure what else I can do.

Amd?

Nope, Nvidia 4090. Intel i9 14th gen. 64gb Ram. SSDs and liquid cooling. All running smoothly.

It’s really annoying me now. Especially when stuck on the ‘Space Next’ loading screen for 10 minutes trying to load the game back in, after another 10 minutes to get the boot menu on the screen :man_facepalming:

Everything takes soooooo loooong to load.

Feelsbad, getting stuck on the loading screen is a massive pain.
Unfortunately, I dont think anyone has a fix for that except the devs ; and if someone does have the same problems, they just chalk it up to Fatshark jank n either roll with the punches or stop playing as a whole like some players.
Hopefully the next update doesnt brick the game even more.

Are you getting lots of CTD though? I can’t understand how it’s suddenly extremely common after hestia, if no one else has the same. That would be really weird.

Not at all. Runs smoothly.

On the other hand, Helldivers 2 has the power to completely crash and shut off my PC.

No suggestions other than: assume you’ve done a game file validation yes?

I have noticed that spinning up the game launcher from Steam now takes much longer than I’ve ever remembered before. Loading those adverts in must be taking its toll.

But seriously. Get the mod. It’s just one less pain point.

It’s not DT for once. It’s Intel. Nothing to do but hope Intel fixes it.

For months, Intel’s highest-end desktop gaming processors have had a strange tendency to occasionally make games crash — and despite what you might have seen earlier today, Intel says it doesn’t have a final fix for its 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core i9 “Raptor Lake” and “Raptor Lake S” chips just yet.

Urgh that sucks! I didn’t know. Thanks for the link.

Strange I only experienced this after the Hestia update though. Surely that can’t be coincidence :man_shrugging:

I did a motherboard BIOs update recently and there is a new option called “Intel Baseline” alongside “Optimised Default”.

But FS need to provide in their technical/performance forum as initial thing.

  • Clean Directx shader cache - Using cleanmgr
  • Use in game launcher and do file verify
  • Use steam launcher and do file verify
  • This will deactivate mods - So test game before re-activating them.

Thank you! I’ll try this out

It’s still Fatshark. I’m running a 3090 on a ryzen 5950x with 64gigs of ram and a m.2 ssd. I also get a crash to desktop every few games. Had no issues before the penance update. Every other game, even Helldivers 2, running on the same engine is running perfectly fine.

The game is just pure swedish jank.

Did your bios update stop the crashes?

So many ctd it’s really driving me crazy. Pretty sure it’s getting worse.

My game just crashed as I entered the ending lift on an auric match and I didn’t get any of the rewards/materials/stats.

Beyond soul destroying. I’d already ctd once that match and managed to get back in (but oc had lost all my pickups).

Fml.

Still do time to time - I can’t tell if really “minimised” it to be honest.

I have a different problem. Audio stutter and visual stutter when no fps drops. Then again I put that down to server as when I play after midnight it seems to be better.

You don’t have to do BIOs update to get “Intel Baseline” defaults alongside usual “optimised defaults” in BIOs.

You could set it manually by looking up your CPU spec from intel.com

If you go into your BIOS I bet you the manufacturer optimised defaults are wacky.

i.e.

they set CPU core/cache current to like 500A.
or PL2 Long limit to be like 4000W

So for example if a person has 14900K then it should be 400A max on extreme profile and PL2 long limit to be 253W

That is really what these BIOs updates are. Just to add “Intel defaults” as option. But again you could just set manually.

Take a look at your manufacturer motherboard website for latest BIOs if they added this i.e. they’ll mention intel baseline or intel defaults if you don’t want to set BIOs values manually.

Sooooo I think I found the culprit. I turned Ray tracing off and so far have not had a crash in over 5 matches. I was almost getting a crash per match (or more) beforehand.

So yeah, guessing a ray tracing issue.

I have a 4090, 64gb ram, and i9 14900hx with liquid cooling so my system handles the output fine. There must be a bug or leak related to RT imo.

Anyone suffering from loads of seemingly random crashes… Try turning ray tracing off and see if it helps :+1:

@FatsharkJulia maybe worth noting this with the team please.
