Huntsman vs Chaos warriors (and monsters)

To my knowledge, it’s complicated by using the boost ‘curves’. I am not aware of any weapon where the critmod and hsmod are actually separate, although it’d make it easier if that’s possible.

Did some great Boss damage though. What build is this?

Also did the majority of Special and Elite killing. I don’t see what you’re sacrificing here.

Yeah almost as good boss damage as this, which has zero power vs boss anywhere on the build.

Yeah, careers that bypass certain stats and still overperform in certain areas are quite strong. I agree.

Look at that Zealot kills though. Damn that ranged meta! Ehrmahgawd, even more elite killes than the Pyro and the Shade, Zealot is SUCH a strong ranged career, pls nerf ranged meta.

OMG look at the boss damage on that WS, HS can almost keep up! and damn Zealot with as many melee kills as WS, ranged meta so stronk!

Or, you know, screenshots are literally worthless as evidence and can’t prove anything at all.
If you insist screenshots are evidence and can be used to prove points, then you have to live by it.

Every career bypasses “certain” stats. Every career has different optimal stats for min:max. All of the careers you think “overperform” are just balanced with different stats.

I find falchion, glaive, elven one-hand and halberd have different modifiers for unarmored (infantry). And many have effective different modifiers for armoured, bosses and berserkers.

Must have changed in one of the patches, previously many more weapons had different modifiers (I think when they rebalanced the str pots with certain abilities they also redid some of the weapon factors).

My legend runs while leveling as a ~450 power lvl 20ish FK frequently proved it’s the most OP you can be in the game cuz lolgreencircles. I must delvl at once!

Yeah clearly you were much stronger at HP 450 than 600. Maybe that account reset they offered wasn’t such a bad idea after all :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Welp my only point was that I could make a boss build capable of dealing with Bosses while still being viable vs Elites and Specials. The screenshot showed decent boss damage as well as performing well against Elites and Specials.

I added further that the Crit talent allows you to bypass stats in regards to certain Elites and Specials, which makes the build work just fine.

The screenshot wasn’t intended as concrete evidence, just an example of my point. Instead of trying to say I haven’t used some rigurous scientific testing for an anecdotal point, you could have just tested the build and thought: “oh yeah it is good against all three” or “well it works against two but not the other”.

The difference between what I posted and what you’re posting, is that my post was relevant to my point.

My posts were relevant in showing that the boss killer HS is no longer the boss killer, as he is easily outperformed by other careers, that don’t have to jump through hoops and have far more variance in viable builds.

Also, considering you have staunchly expressed the opinion that screenshots are proof previously, I thought I might add some of my own. If screenshots are evidence, I’ve just debunked the ranged meta.

Or, even better, proven that screenshots aren’t evidence.

I’m sure your HS build is fine but the scorecard was totally out of context and your competition was 3x more-or-less support classes who, at best, aren’t stellar DPS in general, especially vs bosses. Not to mention you’re getting a buff from the WHC. The only way it could have been more strawman-esque is if there was a FK in the mix.

Scorecards in general don’t prove anything because they’re entirely out of context and always strawman w/e point is trying to be made. I get that’s not what you’re trying to do in this instance but, yeah. A comparison against your own performance on other characters would be more relevant.

Try it and see if you can prove the point wrong. It’s that simple.

You’re asking him to prove a negative now? Christ, that’s pretty shamelessly manipulative.

You might as well ask us to disprove the existence of Santa.

This is not how evidence, the world, or reality works.

So you take that into account. I didn’t try to show it as somehow being the best thing ever. Just good at 3 things. Which, if the other classes aren’t good, proved that he’s able to carry in that regard. Thank you.

As I said it’s not something you can’t test yourselves. Test it yourselves and see if I’m being truthful.

Oh yeah, test it yourselves.

I think you’ll find that classes that aren’t DPS classes but have different, very useful utilities, aren’t inherently not good. If you think a class needs to be top DPS to be good, I think you’re playing the wrong game, because this game has all sorts of tanky and CC classes, as well as DPS classes.

Your DPS class huntsman outperforming non-DPS classes is the point here, not that the other classes ‘aren’t good’.

But coming from someone who actually tries to use such despicable debate tactics as asking someone to prove a negative…yeah what else can you expect.

I have repeatedly tried to make bow huntsman work since the nerf, and he can’t come close to what the other DPS classes can do. Others, like Revy, play pretty much only HS (unlike you and me), and he can also attest that while HS isn’t unusuable, he can never achieve the same DPS and utility as the other DPS classes.

And the DPS career has to be balanced against the other DPS careers, does he not?

The modifiers aren’t different, they are just using different armor penetration.
Basically a halberd strike has a penetration of 1 on first target and 0.9 on every subsequent one, but a crit overwrites that with a pen of 1. In the calculation, the critmod and hsmod are still identical.
A crit headshot is a different beast altogether though, it simply has it’s own modifier.
