Hotfix #42 (1.4.2) Patch Notes

Love the timely patching and response to feedback! My old excitement for Darktide’s future has been rekindling with all these comms.

I know not everyone agrees on the shooter change being reverted, but I do think this was the right call for the playerbase as a whole. Certainly difficulty can be improved, but this wasn’t the way to go about it.

The flamer is an exellent crowdcontrolling and stagger weapon, making it a very viable weapon even before this damage increase.

This.

I’ve used it in several auric maelstrom runs last nights and it saved our collective asses on several occasions. It’s something you only pull out when the situation requires it. Otherwise you simply melee.

TBH the only valid complaint I felt was the burst-fire-laser guys seeming to obliterate toughness in one go, which doesn’t seem to be reverted? Otherwise it felt pretty balanced to me.

I’m not gonna go crowing ‘Fatshark is back baby’ but I’m starting to wonder if that review hit about delaying the crafting update shook things up a little. We know that FS has a pattern of boosting comms when the game starts dying off/cosmetic money gets threatened…

Nooooooooo! Firefights were finally meaningful and fun again…

Now we seem to be back to primarily melee regardless of build.

Wish yall didnt nerf the shooters, but im also not surprised.

Other than, it’s a great patch. Especially getting the pickaxes fixed so quickly. Getting these small hot fixes out quickly to fix these smaller issues between major updates is a great step in the right direction.

Shame there isn’t anything about the goddamn trappers but the rest is welcome. Especially pickaxe changes! Hooah!

People moaning about gunners - the changes sound reasonable and definitely still more threatening than before. They’re now even more accurate but with bigger damage fall off. That sounds like a good compromise imo

Same, I barely noticed these “buffs”, and I only was made aware when I read some of the forums posts. In my opinion they should half those reverted increases, reintroduce and see how that goes. At very least on Damnation.

Sticking to cover should be a default behaviour for gunners, instead of bayonet charging a pis…off Ogryn in the front of them.

It was halfway to P2W and halfway screwed since it’d let you see through gas and smoke but also hid sniper lasers and the like.

I am disappointed by the gunner revert changes ,it was a bit more fun while it lasted.
No need for exec stance vet anymore

Ha, you are correct, trash shooters (and elite gunners) being a threat actually called for a vet with a good anti-shooter build, even if Exec Stance wasn’t necessary. Quite a few of guns are underutilised atm, because there is no need for sustained ranged support. The revolver / plasma “meta” continues.
