And how would you even know this? Are you personally working with their code? No. You simply consume and complain.

This is just absolutely wild to me. How could this have passed QA? It’s not even remotely obscure.

To be fair their code really is complex.

Anyone here ever poked through the Github repository online to check it?
It’s really extensive, because every other file has to call back with the networking and then go through other routes to make callbacks.

Figuring it out for modding purposes is not that easy.

What are you even talking about? lol. Are you realy trying to tell me that not breaking some text lines again, again and again is some complex coding? Even if it was, noone cares how it’s hard to fix, it’s their work to do. Consumers care about only final product and it’s how it should be.

As I read that they dropped an hotfix, the first and only thing what comes into my mind is that this “bug” would be the only point they have fixed… I’m rly surprised it’s not part of the dropped hotfix… Maybe tzeentch has a hand on it :sweat_smile:

My penance “Traitorous Collective” ist still stuck at 10/12 since ****ing preorder beta. I made 2 bugreports and 1 technical support post without any effekt or awnser so i wont do that again.

Is this how fatsharks says thank you for preordering your game in imperial edition and buyin some cosmetics?

So use the bug Report system and it will get fixed. That’s what its there for. Constantly complaining in the wrong thread will literally get you nowhere. You think being toxic on forums helps at all? Try approaching the situation like an adult.

Exactly my point. The people who are constantly trying to bring this game down have absolutely no clue as to how complex coding can be.

Leave actual game hyping and community communication to other devs, FS specializes in dead silence!
Even the class update was originally leaked in an interview, they only came out and actually mentioned it after everyone was already talking about it on the forums…

How about you try to read? It’s an old bug that is reappears over and over, which word you don’t understand? Is it so hard for you to guess it was reported every time?

I think being a whiteknight like you is cringe, especially in such silly situation when 3 lines patch break something that already was fixed 10 times. It is a pure idiotism to report the same bug every time and if you think community should do this constantly and there is no problem on Fatshark side then you are a clown.

Were the previous occurrences of the issue as widespread as this? I remember some blessings missing localized strings, but this looks like all blessings are missing them. This is not to excuse the problem, just that the source of the problem may not be the same.

I suspect that it’s difficult to actually automate testing that all locale strings are present in an effective way, and maintaining them requires that a number of separate files are kept in sync (i.e. the file which instructs the UI to render my_localized_string and all of the language files that have the content corresponding to my_localized_string). Where there’s a few missing localizations, my money would be on things being out of sync - the identifier changed in one place but wasn’t updated elsewhere. Where a lot of them are missing, it could point to the locale files not being included in the build.

It’s still a bit daft to see it crop up again.

But should I care as a final user when it looks the same but this time even on a bigger scale? As a player I don’t need to know nuances of development, like for what? So I can excuse devs every time when problem looks the same but in reality it’s not? Meh. But it’s not even about this bug, it’s about there is no changes in QA since Vermintide 1.

Do you need to know the details? No, you don’t. I simply wanted to provide a little context to indicate that there may be more than meets the eye. Like I said, I don’t say this with the intent of excusing the re-occurrence of the bug - a typical pattern for addressing a bug would be to include some sort of test that would provide confidence now that the bug is fixed and provide an indicator in the future if it broke again. Did FS not do that? Who knows.

However, I do think a little perspective from the other side is beneficial. People can be quick to jump to condescending and derogatory remarks (“spaghetti code”, “immeasurably complex” for instance). What’s the harm in simply raising issues in a respectful and dignified manner, without resorting to cheap shots

  • There’s a bug, here’s the evidence
  • That old bug has reappeared for the Nth time, what’s going on?

One would hope that internally these conversations are happening, but ultimately it’s on FS to make the call as to whether tackling these problems is a more important investment of resources than whatever their current priorities are.

Cause you aren’t talking any positive things that related to something real here, you are just trying to pretend there is no lacking of quality. Like ignoring problems and providing GoOd ViBeS will make those problems disappear.

What would be positive?
“Look guys, last time it was 10 broken things. Now only 2.”

However it’s not like that.

And this isn’t a normal situation, you are pushing idea that low standarts and having players as a free QA testers is appropriate, that’s why you’re a whiteknight.

Be it three blessings descriptions, half, all of them, only range or only axes. Just ensure what are you going to drop for release. Taking as granted players should report broken descriptions every time cause every time it’s a different amount of them being broken, well good luck to build a good reputation and a stable playerbase.
