1h each day = 365h
2h each day =730h
assuming 600w power supply, (not full uptime i know but Darktide is demanding, i averaged to 500)
1kwh at 0,33c

=120,12€ for the 730h you paid±120€ extra thats not nothing that’s a real cost to playing

same with computer parts, mostly a gaming commodity there are other uses, but most get high end parts for gaming and only gaming, where mid range or budged parts are very much suitable for daily applications.
clothes are not a luxury item, they can be but you need to wear em by law (most countries if not all)
so no gaming PC parts are very much not comparable expenses to clothes

Mate - I deleted my original post as I thought the argument was absurd and I realized I couldn’t debate it without it just being an unproductive tit-for-tat.

I’ll just say: you decide yourself if 120 Euros of electricity for 730 hours of gaming makes this game unworthy of the E40 Fatshark asked for. Self-flagellation through 730hours of unhappy gaming is clearly a personal choice.

fair enough, i personally think that gaming has an incredibly good value proposition in general not just darktide, but then again it was even better back in the day, and there’s nothing that guarantees to stay like it is.

This all the way!

Do we count fuel cost for cinema then ?

Welp. They’ve got about 24 hours to actually say something considering the upcoming Friday+weekend is generally a holiday.

Really doing this last minute.

“Doing this last minute”
Should be their company slogan

I wonder how much stuff they’re simply not allowed to make early on. Like, FS has competent people, their core experience is too good to imagine they don’t, so there musr be a whole ton of wasted work and effort earlier on in their process due to siloed departments or poor leadership.

Considering there are ‘literally swap a single number’ bugs that have gone unaddressed, that they can’t seem to build new maps at speed despite now using a massive copy-paste tool for large sections of them, etc etc etc

It really has to be utter dysfunction over there.

Entirely. If they make changes, it’ll be in part because Martin actually has a boss now.

As much as I feel gross and slimy saying it, FS is dysfunctional enough that getting picked up by a megapublisher has a chance of helping.

Would you consider Tencent to be a “mega publisher?” Because on those grounds not much has changed.

Would you tell me Tencent isnt?

Not much has changed yet because this is FS’s first go with them. They’ll act based on how FS performs.

Was just asking your opinion on them, because your question made it seem lile FS hadn’t already been acquired.

I don’t know what TC expects out of long term profits but DT sold very well. And due to the lack of changes the cosmetic store seems to be doing its job well enough. So I doubt Tencent is going to interfere with FS much at the moment.

If we’re seeing this, I don’t think we’re hearing anything from Fatshark or Catfish today.

Welp, it’s 8 in the evening in Sweden.

They put a deadline for a preview of a preview of an update to a system they’ve already “fixed” once, and they couldn’t even say “Whoopsie! Sorry guys!”

C’mon, man.

Welp. That’s it, then.
