Hard bricking my PC

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

During missions game will lock up, PC will stop responding resulting in needing to hard power off the machine. After this; opening Darktide again WON’T result in a popup window giving a crash report so I can only provide the console_logs.

I re-installed Windows fresh today to try and fix this after going through the troubleshooting list of graphics crashes on the Fatshark website. Nothing seems to stop the crashes.

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

This sounds like a hardware issue

i had similar crashes in the past and it turned out it was a problem with samsung ssd drivers. if applicable to you it’s something you could try

also just as a heads up “hard bricking” would mean pc actually destroyed, you’re giving the poor support guys a shock

Hello! Darktide operates in protected memory and won’t directly cause your PC to lose responsiveness, but it is particularly demanding and will be highlighting an existing driver or hardware instability. Based on the crash report you’ve shared, I’d be inclined to believe this is GPU-related.

There are a number of variables involved with issues like this and identifying the underlying cause will require a process of elimination. With that in mind, I’d recommend starting here:

[PC] How to Resolve PC Crashes, Loss of Responsiveness or Blue Screens (BSOD)

Managed to achieve stability again. For the benefit of future googlers:

-remove GPU and cleaned all contacts and power slot

-underclocked GPU (I had no idea MSI card apparently come from the factory overclocked) using MSI afterburner

-set number of worker threads to 6
