Was playing with an Ogryn who had a grey knife. I came down on him pretty hard like “What the heck are you doing in Auric Maelstroms with a grey knife?” He said “Watch me.” This guy ended up doing 600k damage - without using ranged.
It doesn’t matter. You shouldn’t judge a player from the first minute and immediately jump on him. Yes, if I see big guys with machine guns, I draw some conclusions for myself, but I don’t yell at them in chat “You’re completely stupid, why do you play through this sucky build?”, and during the game I just check the damage table and see perfectly well that these idiots just waste ammo on any rubbish mobs and still don’t have normal damage. And I’m just laughing, alone, in my room… But it’s also possible that they do the achievements ( oh yeah, thanks fat sharks).
Either way, never attack people first, just wait until they do it themselves in your direction and then tell them what you think of them.
ye i’ve been grinding ogryn penances with mk5 foldable shovel and it has been a pice of cake, the left side melee tree doesn’t require more than 2 brain cells activated to complete missions
I could see how it could’ve been seen as an attack in retrospect. Yet it was intended as a point of serious inquiry. Direct interfacing with people hasn’t been my strong suit.
Just the other day in an attempt to use all the tools I’ve learned from therapy, writing in college, etc. In so doing, reiterating the point made, stretching empathy across to opposing view points, making my point and appealing to compromise while also keeping other parties in mind.
I was accused of being a chat GPT bot.
So now, I find it difficult to interact with people, finding the wisdom to discern where the problem lies in a conversation. Shrug
tbh inspecting people’s loadouts individually and giving them grief before the game even starts is bizzare behaviour
as long as the knife has base rolled decently there are like 2 blessings that actually have an effect anyway as most ogryn blessings seem very peripheral besides being able to get more toughness or more cleave
So basically lore accurate Ogryn? Also I have seen plenty of players who struggle as the big guy. It’s a class with some serious downsides, unless you play with some specific “positively” broken builds.
The krouk knife is actually incredible for endurance because it has Toughness regen on light attacks.
So you can RSI your hand into oblivion with the light attack and you should remain fairly healthy.
With most other ogryn weapons they require heavy attack to regen Toughness… But that slow time it takes to load a heavy attack is when I usually suffer injury the most.
I might do more damage with other builds but I certainly get downed a lot less with a krouk knife build. I’m pretty sure my ogryn runs faster when armed with a knife too.
I barely block in the game either. It’s kind of pointless imo. You can load an attack whilst dodging but not whilst blocking. The game is so frantic that blocking is just too slow and bricks you from attacking. I’d understand blocking if 1-on-1 encounters were much more common but fighting an infinite stream of enemies means I never stop attacking lol. Just my playstyle oc. Others will work for other people.
Multiple weapons have access to those blessings.
But i think that light attacks of the knifes are used and spammed more, than light attacks of these other weapons.
The purpose of inspection was not to grief. I like to know what people are running so I know what kit to go with and how to play around my teammates to synergize with them. For instance, if we’ve got a team with a veteran with a shotgun, a zealot with a shotgun and an ogryn with a kickback, we’re lacking long range support in the worst way.
I was beyond shocked when I saw a grey weapon. In an Auric Maelstrom.
What I learned is that blessings and perks don’t really make a difference.
