Great job

So you made the community wait more than 3 months for any sort of communication at all this year for the direction of the game or anything for that matter where a few people were legitimately wondering if the game was just not going to have a year 2.

Finally update us and give us some information on things to come and a dead line of end of the month for a dev blog on an upcoming update. The community is actually somewhat happy.

Then you miss your own set deadline again. And go on holiday for several days

Amazing never change

If they drop it before the end of the month I will have to offer excuses, and many people too.

But while it’s very unlikely, it’s premature to condem them yet.

Considering there are no more working days in Sweden this month, it’s pretty safe to say they have once again failed miserably.

Should we start a betting pool as to what ‘sudden’ and ‘unforeseen’ technical issues made them unable to post words, this time?

Farshark have never worked during a holiday before
Why start now.

Why. Why are you like this. How are you like this? This is the behavior of a company consisting of three guys in a shed, not something with nearly 200 employees and stock options! How did you even make it this far?

As a massive fan of the funny option, I need your guys’ intake: would it be funnier for them to have actually scheduled a post and for all of us to have to apologize, or for them to have actually failed at on of the most basic tasks again? The former is a subversion of expectations and could be funny in its surprise, while the latter is tried and true.

If it’s the former, then Fatshark is truly masochistic. Hurting themselves because they enjoy hurting the community more? I don’t really think that’s the case. The latter speaks of incompetence which is the more likely cause.

turns out they finna release info on the 31st as their final gotcha (gacha) system
additionally they know that there will be an influx of players on update so theyre prolly jus tryna get as many eyes on the “news” as possible in prep for the drop

leave the shed dudes alone!

Yeah, the shed dudes managed to make a precision rifle better than any professional weapons company. Leave 'em alone.

So Fatshark is less competent than 3 guys in a shed.

Alright, where does that leave us? One of those ‘game developers’ who put out Unity asset flips and try to sue Youtubers only to fail so hard their company implodes?

The shed dudes would do better.

Catfish once posted while on vacation. It could still happen. I love watching the fireworks.

Arrowhead fans right now oh cool 2 entirely new free guns right after we got flying bugs, hostile weather effects, new mission types and a mech in the space of a month

Fatshark followers: ok fatshark are probably going to miss their end of the month deadline to type a few words about a update that’s coming soon tm after 3 months of no updates and no communication unless they post during a public holiday that’s practically unheard from from them.

I wonder why the game by arrowhead is doing better than the fatshark one?

yah I just read through another one of project zomboid’s monthly writeups on their dev progress. They’re all pretty in-depth, even though they’re also slow af on update releases. Coffee stain studio’s community outreach is still top tier, releasing regular video updates about their dev progress/process and being very transparent about everything (also in sweden iirc). It kinda goes without saying, but they really should’ve just released darktide as an early-access title so they could have a valid reason for everything being unfinished and sloppy.

They wouldn’t have been able to get that sweet sweet cosmetic money if they did that.

Leaving aside for now that they’re in absolutely NO position to be playing so fast and loose with customer sentiment, frankly, this is just rude. I won’t go quite so far as to call it conduct unbecoming, but it’s most assuredly unprofessional.

But here’s the problem (as if any more were needed): none of this is happening in a vacuum. @FatsharkCatfish @FatsharkStrawHat, whomever else, I hate to break it to you, but we haven’t forgotten the past few months and what lead us here.

I have no desire nor intention to throw shade at you guys, so please don’t misunderstand me. Though you should be aware that every missed deadline, every broken promise, every evasion, every insincere-sounding cookie-cutter PR line, every abuse of trust, every let down, comes laden with the increasing baggage of prior disappointment. So the impact of missing a deadline and then ghosting us (already impolite on its own) is more damaging than the sum of its parts. And in case it wasn’t clear: it’s not doing you any favors.

early access titles aren’t allowed to have mtx shops?
