Give vet a power sword Mark with the Relic Blade's special

i don’t think i did, since i don’t even mention the op, but okay?

i don’t disagree making a new mk or weapon? and in my message i just simply said to put the gauge mechanic on 1h ps which can also imply in making another 1h ps mark, or new weapon.
not necessarily the old ones.

Well maybe I misread you, but that’s the strong implication I got. That the heat mechanic is simply superior no question so should be broadly ported across.

That’s the notion I want to strongly disabuse people of in this thread. YOU may prefer it but for others the bar management is more tedious and lame than 1h PS that at least has a nice rhythm to it and doesn’t require you to split your focus with yet another UI element.

Yeah it’s not like the playerbase has gone down because the dss was hilarious failure and we’ve gone without anything new to do, use or fight for several months now for a game designed around live service. Nah it’s that they appealed to the 99% percent and not the one percent.

As it turns out the incredibly repetitive game dependent on new content game the community got incredibly invested in with the dss push for it to be meta game garbage and ui screens unsurprising makes people drop off and play something else 2 months of mo repetition hell resulted in the game part of the game getting literally nothing beyond afk gaming 380’s that blow you up and eagle strafing runs that play the game for you.

Sure if arrowhead didn’t nerf everything that moved for months on end and completely fail to understand the basic mechanics of their own game (for sure obvious outliers needed the stick breaker incendiary) but nerfing things because of a bug and then fixing the bug leaving the weapon useless was horrendously dumb and only exasperated the justified community response of stop sucking the fun out. Arrowhead dug their own grave here.

Perhaps if they can break the trend of
Screwing up the game and needing to fix it over and over and can entirety focus on content it might be salvageable. I’m really sick of every pve co-op horde game having functionally brain dead devs.

The DSS should have come out finshed not a “we’re gonna improve upon it over time”

Rip twinbeard as well, he was our catfish/strawhat and he’s gone and arrowhead have gone radio silent beyond an interview where they tease things as coming soon that are months away.

well I did not mention/quoted nor “attacked” op’s suggestion, but just replied to another user. so all good. i actually didn’t understand what i did wrong.

i don’t even disagree with it, i think it’s good as idea, new mark for ps with the same mechanic 2h ps mechanic and leaving the other untouched for the people that like it in that way.

i also see many other people that feel like that spamming special attack a lot, for everything is tedious. compared to 2h ps, where you can do it, and leave it and once its turned off either by overheat or manually you can still deal okay damage, and has actually nice special attack activation chains through attacks which make it smoother.

the issue of 1h ps imo is that the non powered version of it, is kinda bad imo, which forces lot of people using special attack. 2h ps too, but the non powered attacks are still decent, and also has the gauge mechanic which makes it last longer so it’s also more cooler.

but again, a new mark/weapon (mark would make more sense obviously, because of the same category of 1h ps) would be cool, and balancing in a way that fits the 1h ps realm, and not making a 1:1 copy, cause i feel like a gauge heat in 1h ps, should not last long as 2h ps, but enough to make you hit plenty hits with it, and balancing also the non powered version attacks. this in a new mark of weapon. not overhauling the existing ones

Exactly, proving my point as usual.

" Nah it’s that they appealed to the 99% percent and not the one percent." - this is all you.

I already mentioned what they should have done which would appeal to all players.

So you spent many paragraphs to tell me deep down you already realized the gun nerfs are trivial compared to the real problems.

It does surprisingly okay dmg against trashmobs.

I don’t think anyone would complain about a slight improvement to 1h PS uncharged attacks. They’re just a bit shy of decent brutal momentum horde clear breakpoints. Could be a good thing to give to the Mk III to distinguish it somewhat. Make it reasonably efficient to clear trash with its nice horizontal uncharged heavies. Though its pretty garbo single target would probably still stop most from using it.

That arrowhead are bad at their jobs like every other co-op horde game dev.

Because we’re just cursed for all of them to be clueless.
Fatshark clueless and slow
Starbreeze incredibly clueless and slow
Arrowhead clueless waste time on avoidable mistakes
Deep rock, cool devs, boring game
What ever Crimeboss is

Time to put all my eggs in the den of wolves basket and get inevitably let down while fatshark nerf ogyrn again with more crappy tax nodes while veteran can press f repeatedly for invincibility in high skill gameplay of point and click at specials.

Why bother tho
Just one second for 3 light attacks that wipe them out faster than just using light attacks.

gtfo was a good game.

I’m not saying you should, I’m just stating that it does surprising okay dmg(as in, more dmg per hit than standard devil’s claw against unarmored…etc.).

Yes, it was.

I really hope they can be consistent.
I mean they are the people that refined pd2 into a much better game
Kept gtfo as a very solid strong cooperative game that didn’t fall into power creep hell which would have killed the entire premise (huh saying that makes me a massive hypocrite).

They should change the Infested mod, it makes zero sense to me that the vet power sword does more damage to flak without using the power button than infested.

they were smart and actually added/removed weapons per season(at least while that was running) so there was a shifting meta but people typically didn’t cry because it’s not that their favorite crutch got nerfed, it’s that it got replaced. (some did get nerfed ofc)

But the main thing was stealth, the guns were the fallback options typically(beside mandatory bossfights…etc.). The devs knew what the game was about; the players knew(or at least, they had to learn very quickly that or kite cheese), and everything was okay beside the game lacking budget.
