Give players access to the shop from character selection ASAP

Logging into each 4 character and checking the shop takes about 10 minutes between connection running to the armory, browsing, comparing, logging out … x4

Ideally, we need a unified inventory management, and resources, and access to all 4 characters from the shop when in the main hall with 1 character.
Hopefully this will happen at some point in Darktide’s development, or you will alienate a lot of players with how obnoxious the switch to each character to check the shop is.

But something that would not take a long time to develop before this happens is adding a button above “start” like : ‘Armory exchange’.
Clicking this button just fetches the available items for this character. The UI elements are already there, use the default character selection background or something else.

Just make it smoother for your players to check the armory.
This 10 minutes wasted instead of playing happen too often, with too many 4008 errors, too many loading screens etc.

This would be easy to implement as a stopgap before eventually changing to a unified inventory of some kind.
Thank you.

Get rid of the shop entirely.

CTRL + C, CTRL + V the loot and crafting system from VT2, enjoy seeing your numbers go up instead of down.

Why don’t you ask fatshark make a store app for your phone? So that you can check store anytime anywhere.
Just think of it, store refresh over time is a completely wrong mechanism, which should be removed rather than improved.

I wouldn’t give a rat’s arse about the store if the crafting system worked properly.
In VT2, 99% of my loot is worthless as it is, and quickly turned to crafting materials.

The shop should become obsolete quickly, but that would rely on a functionnal crafting system that allows you to build a weapon you like from nothing.

If they decided that the first crafting step (actually making the weapon) should be handled by a store instead of crafting from blueprints, fine - and with this very idea in mind, I’m a firm advocate of the store having one tab per weapon, and half a dozen randomly generated versions of each weapon type.
Shopping for a weapon already heading towards where you want it to be stats-wise is a fun alternative to clicking “craft” and ending with a randomly generated weapon anyway.
In fact, it would be better as it’d give the player a bit of agency in the earlier steps of the “I want this specific new weapon I have in mind” roadmap.

Short term vs long term.
Thanks for the snide remark though, hope it made you feel all warm inside and all. Good luck and thanks for contributing to the fast filling forum tool use of mine.

You simply don’t want people answering your posts if it isn’t to 100% agree with you, that’s cool, but this is a public forum.
