Game Too Easy

That was possible before the new patch. 2 shotting DH, was not a problem! Just hit the Head with TH and charged 3 stack heavy attack to the Head!

Veteran got hit really hard in survivability, with the base toughness being 100, that nerfs every single toughness related node and curio, and the lost 100 toughness is spread out over 6 nodes all over the tree.

Yeah, I think they were more than a bit heavy handed in this area, and as others have mentioned the tuff regen is not at the top-ish part like in the other classes.

This theory works great until you spend literally 2 seconds thinking about it more and remember you have no control over who you’re paired with and it doesn’t matter what you’re running when the triple assail + void Psyker squad rolls in.

I’m proud to say that I’ll be ruining people’s runs as a void/assail psyker until vet gets un-karked.

It feels like they are either fixing the director or the director works as intended on certain parts in certain maps because I ran Hab Dreyko final event last night and it surely was challenging (for once)

I hope more missions get fixes like that

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It’s gotten incredibly inconsistent thanks to the spawning issues and the change in gameplay. And also much “cheaper”.
In general it feels Time To Kill is lower on everything against everyone, including enemy versus player actions.

Since HP and Toughness are largely down and the sniper seems to shoot faster. Attacks in general seem slightly faster, it doesn’t flow with the rhythm anymore.
But at the same time, they are squishier.

So the game moved from being about enduring combat more towards being about hectic quick-kill combat. That’s how I can best describe it.

So for aggressive teams it’s incredibly easy, they kill stuff before it can approach.
For defensive teams it can get harder, because they are barraged with stronger attacks.

We should team up. I always appreciate a Voidstaffpsyker. Running Surge, too, I hope? YOU BETTER BE, Tzcheeseboi!

I’ve come to a similar conclusion. Sometimes the AI director seems to working as it should, by giving a monster and waves of specials on final events and other times there are less enemies spawned overall then prepatch.

lol

So i just played veteran and wiped 4x in a row on damnation (within the first 5 minutes), because the game is so easy.

Teammates with hundreds of levels on their characters, still useless af (even when using the “overpowered” things).

The average match with randoms is definitely not too easy.

Btw wtf is up with a fully charged helbore shot not being able to penetrate a single teammate?

I personally tend to agree that the is game definitely is easier when certain conditions are in place. The primary one is the fact that some of the top 1% builds seem to be insanely over tuned.

Other fact is that runs tend to spike insanely hard in either direction. Its especially noticeable on some maps events.
I cant remember the name of the map now(Desert map, carry power shells to middle) but we had this event where I had 100% loss rate no matter how many times I carried the event. It just spawns so much crap that most pubbies are just incapable of adjusting. Other maps can have the opposite effect where almost nothing happens the entire run.

So my general feeling is mixed. Its definitely easier if you go top meta style of play with really good party and optimize the skills. In random play my experience has been really mixed bag of stupidly braindead dead runs to extremely hard ones.

Hab Dreyko was bugged, there were no specials spawns after second airlock gates.

I would say that the primary conditions are:

  • everyone has strong loadout
  • the teammates loadouts complement each other
  • everyone actually does their job

All three of those are usually not the case.

I’m not sure if bleed is meta, but ogryn can kill with two shield heavies any human sized elite and special, except mauler, mauler and mute need 3 hits. Bulwark and reaper 2 hits.

On vet 1h chainsword heavy shred with bleed can oneshot every human-sized elite and special, except mauler (with crit it does) for mauler there will some leftover like for 2 light attacks. It also can oneshot bulwark and reaper.

Enemies have no HP, this is just stupid.

Bleed in general is definitely out there. Apart from just the raw damage there seems to be some really odd combinations. Knife for instance with some bleed stacks seems to keep stacking vets onslaught for rending. Its hilarious watching maulers/crushers die to just light attack spam after few seconds.

It wasn’t just Hab Dreyko tho. It used to be that a lot of the crazier conditions (like extra monstrosity spawn) just wouldn’t ever happen during scripted events. Think about any of the big events. Did monsters ever spawn during those? e.g. I don’t ever remember a monster spawning in Chasm Logistratum mid event or finale. Now they do and it’s quite spicy.

This is a big one, has been since day 0 and it’s even more important now.

E.g. I was trying out vet, had a psyker (I forget what) and 2 revolver zealots.

Well the 2 zealots always scattered like the wind and they both decided they should be revolver sniping vets instead of zealots, it wasn’t a great match and the ammo usage was high.
The melee trash and elites kept piling up so the vet (me) and psyker had to deal with them while they both played zealot vets, it seems to be happen with revolver users.

A couple of rounds later, similar make-up I was on my zealot and didn’t try to take the vet’s role, it was a much smoother game. Same when I’m playing Ogryn. Yeah those 2 classes got buffed and vet nerfed, but there’s more to it than that.

TLDR “everyone actually does their job” makes game go a lot smoother.

P.S. Again, it seems like they over-nerfed vet survivability by a fair amount IMHO.
